By volume, cement concrete is one of the most widely used construction materials in the world. This requires a significant amount of Portland cement, and the cement industry, in turn, causes a significant amount of CO emissions. Therefore, the development of concrete with a reduced cement content is becoming an urgent problem for countries with a significant level of production and consumption of concrete.

This article presents the results of a study of the physical and mechanical properties of fine-grained fly ash concrete based on a combined reinforcement with steel and basalt fibers. The main studies were conducted using mathematical planning of experiments, which allowed the experiments to be algorithmized in terms of both the amount of experimental work and statistical requirements. Quantitative dependences characterizing the effect of the content of cement, fly ash binder, steel, and basalt fiber on the compressive strength and tensile splitting strength of fiber-reinforced concrete were obtained.

The article shows the effectiveness of the use of polymer additives for the production of fine-grained concrete mixtures and concretes based on using coal fly ash, which can be used as working mixtures for a 3D printer. Using mathematical planning of experiments, a set of experimental-statistical models was obtained that describes the influence of mixture composition factors including copolymer additive on the most important properties of ash-containing concrete mixtures and concretes for 3D concrete printing in the presence of a hardening accelerator additive. It is shown that when the dry mixture is mixed in water, the redispersed polymer powders are converted into an adhesive polymer dispersion, which, when the solution cures, creates "rubber bridges" in its pores and at the border with the base.

There are no standards for testing the properties of 3D-printed materials; hence, the need to develop guidelines for implementing this type of experiment is necessary. The work concerns the development of a research methodology for interlayer bond strength evaluation in 3D-printed mineral materials. In additive manufactured construction elements, the bond strength is a significant factor as it determines the load-bearing capacity of the entire structural element.

Colloid lithography represents a simple and efficient method for creation of a large-scale template for subsequent surface patterning, deposition of regular metal nanostructures, or periodical surface structures. However, this method is significantly restricted by its ability to create only a limited number of structures with confined geometry and symmetry features. To overcome this limitation, different techniques, such as plasma treatment or tilting angle metal deposition, have been proposed.

We investigated the effect of background noise on performance on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). Two groups of older adults (one with clinically normal hearing, one with hearing loss) and a younger adult group with clinically normal hearing were administered two versions of the MoCA under headphones in low and high levels of background noise. Intensity levels used to present the test were customized based on the hearing abilities of participants with hearing loss to yield a uniform level of difficulty across listeners in the high-level noise condition.

Many standardized measures of cognition include items that must be seen or heard. Nevertheless, it is not uncommon to overlook the possible effects of sensory impairment(s) on test scores. In the current study, we investigated whether sensory impairments could affect performance on a widely used screening tool, the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA).

Cancer of the GE-junction is a highly malignant tumor with early lymphatic metastasis to the lymph nodes both in the abdomen and mediastenum. At surgery, lymph nodal metastasis is revealed in nearly 80% of cases. At present, surgical treatment with extended lymph node dissection is the "golden standard".

Great experience with treatment and a comprehensive investigation of the severe combined trauma allowed the authors to choose six basic principles to be followed in diagnosing and treatment of this surgical pathology whose peculiarity is the phenomenon of mutual aggravation of the injuries. Following these principles, especially at surgical hospitals, promotes complete diagnosing, choice of the rational treatment policy in order to avoid medical errors and severe posttraumatic and postshock complications and to improve the outcomes. The authors prove expediency of organization of the multifield specialized centers for treatment of patients with the severe combined traumas.

The effect of hydrocortisone on kanamycin pharmacokinetics in rabbits treated with the drugs administered intramuscularly in two different syringes simultaneously and in one syringe was studied. When the drugs were administered in two different syringes, there were no changes in the antibiotic pharmacokinetics as compared to the control group, while administration of the drugs in one syringe resulted in decreased excretion of the antibiotic with urine and a significant increase of its levels in the blood, liquor and tissues.
