Introduction: The role of the wound care nurse is identified as a key element in the management of patients with venous leg ulcers (VLUs). However, the literature offers fragmented knowledge of the outcomes associated with their practice.

Aims: To identify, summarize, and map all available evidence based on the wound care nurses practice for the treatment of VLUs.

Introduction: Audit and feedback are recognized as part of a strategy for improving performance and supporting quality and safety in European health care systems. These considerations led the Clinical Management Staff of the "Regina Elena" Italian Cancer Institute to start a project of self-assessment of the quality of clinical records and organizational appropriateness through a retrospective review.

[The Day Service as a tool to reduce inappropriateness of care: the experience of a research hospital in Rome (Italy)].

The Day Service was established in Italy to promote appropriateness of care and consists in the delivery of packages of complex outpatient services. A Working Group for the continuous improvement of pre-hospitalization activities of the Regina Elena Scientific Institute in Rome, Italy, established that the outpatient management of surgical patients in the hospital would occur in a Day Service, through a package of services identified at the regional level or appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic pathways. This article describes the experience of the hospital's Day Service and compares results from the last four months of 2013 with those of the first four months of 2014.

Headache and epilepsy in childhood: analysis of a series of 620 children.

The relationships between various types of headache and epilepsy were investigated in a sample of 620 children aged 2 to 16 years with special reference to the frequency and types of epilepsy, their distribution over the types of headache, the frequency of familiarity of convulsions and epilepsy by headache type and the frequency of epileptiform EEGs in headache-free intervals. Data were correlated with those of a control group of 100 suffering from Recurrent Respiratory Infection Syndrome (RRIS). Children with and without epilepsy were compared in respect of the course of headache in order to elicit any differences.
