Objective: Stress distribution assessment by finite elements analysis in poly(etheretherketone) (PEEK) implant and abutment as retainers of single crowns in the anterior region.
Materials And Methods: Five 3D models were created, varying implant/abutment manufacturing materials: titanium (Ti), zirconia (Zr), pure PEEK (PEEKp), carbon fiber-reinforced PEEK (PEEKc), glass fiber-reinforced PEEK (PEEKg). A 50 N load was applied 30 off-axis at the incisal edge of the upper central incisor.

Purpose: The purpose of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to compare the clinical performance and self-reported patient outcomes of ball and stud attachments as mandibular overdenture retainers.
Statement Of Problem: Implant-supported single crowns are more prone to screw loosening than splinted prostheses. Therefore, the locking taper system, which has a screwless abutment, may perform better when associated with this type of rehabilitation. However, systematic reviews on this system are lacking.

Purpose: To evaluate the influence of facial type and anteroposterior skeletal discrepancy of complete denture wearers on residual ridge height, masticatory performance, oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL), and satisfaction levels.
Materials And Methods: A total of 56 edentulous patients (mean age of 67.1 years) were radiographically evaluated prior to rehabilitation to determine residual ridge height in the maxilla and mandible, facial type, and anteroposterior skeletal discrepancy.
Purpose: To develop 3D anatomical models, and corresponding radiographs, of canine jaw fractures.
Methods: A base model was generated from a mandibular bone scan. With this model it was possible to perform fracture planning according to the anatomical location.
Purpose: To investigate the influence of age and time since edentulism on masticatory function and quality of life related to oral health (OHRQoL) in totally edentulous patients after implant-retained mandibular overdenture (IMO) loading.
Materials And Methods: The sample consisted of 33 patients categorized in two age groups (≤ 65 and > 65 years, respectively), and two time since edentulism groups (< 25 and ≥ 25 years). The masticatory function was evaluated through the masticatory performance and swallowing threshold tests before IMO loading, and 1, 3, 6, and 12 months after IMO loading.
Objective: To evaluate the anatomy of the serratus plane in dogs to establish the optimal landmarks for a superficial serratus plane (SSP) block and evaluate ropivacaine-methylene blue solution dispersion with three volumes of injection.

Animals: A formaldehyde solution-preserved dog cadaver and 15 frozen/thawed adult dog cadavers.
The generally recommended treatment for patients with mandibular bone atrophy involves extensive bone reconstruction to enable the use of standard dental implants. In posterior areas with limited height and thickness, a combination of wide-short dental implants and long implants has also been recommended. This alternative treatment improves the biomechanical resistance to stress from occlusal forces during mastication and has achieved success rates comparable to those of standard implants.
