[Efficacy of artemether in the treatment of uncomplicated Plasmodium falciparum malaria in children aged 6-60 months of age in Bangui (Central African Republic)].

Objective: Transmission of malaria in the Central African Republic is holoendemic. The disease accounts for 40% of medical consultations and is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality. Central African Republic is classified by WHO in zone C for resistance to traditional anti-malaria drugs such as chloroquine, sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine, and amodiaquine.
