  • - The Cannabis Refusal Self-Efficacy Questionnaire (CRSEQ) assesses people's confidence in resisting cannabis, consisting of 14 items that categorize into Emotional Relief Self-Efficacy, Opportunistic Self-Efficacy, and Social Facilitation, aiming to validate its use in the Chilean population.
  • - A study involving 1,275 Chilean individuals showed strong internal consistency and good fit for both 14-item and 19-item models, with the 14-item model demonstrating slightly superior fitting statistics, making it more applicable for various settings.
  • - The CRSEQ demonstrated convergent validity with cannabis use behaviors and was confirmed for demographic invariance, allowing meaningful comparisons across different sex and age groups, which is valuable for educational and

Article Synopsis
  • Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) can lead to externalizing behaviors, which vary based on whether the ACE affects the individual child or the family as a whole.
  • A study involving siblings found that younger siblings are more at risk for developing such behaviors, especially when exposed to a significant number of family-wide ACEs.
  • The findings suggest a need for further research into how these experiences and birth order influence behavior in children.

  • Conducting extinction in various contexts might help reduce the chances of these responses returning.
  • A meta-analysis of 25 studies found that extinction in multiple contexts significantly decreases relapse risk, suggesting it could be a beneficial strategy for clinicians in therapeutic settings.

Background: Eliciting professionals' experiences of current drug treatment programmes can lead to improvements of these youth-centred programmes through the involvement of the concerned youths' families. We explored perceived barriers amongst professionals concerning interventions incorporating parents or guardians responsible for justice-involved youth with substance use disorders.

Methods: We conducted semi-structured in-depth interviews with fourteen female and four male professionals, each representing one of eighteen programmes under the Chilean National Drug Treatment Programme (2016-2017), who were tasked with contacting and/or intervening in the families of justice-involved youth.

Objective: In developing countries, rural communities often face the lack of potable water infrastructure and must rely on untreated sources for drinking, which are often contaminated with waterborne pathogens. The use of home water treatment devices is seen as one means of reducing the risk of exposure to waterborne pathogens. The aim of this study was to evaluate the microbiological and physicochemical performance of a simple in-home point-of-use device based on gravity ultrafiltration through an ultrafilter membrane.

In Mexico, relatively few studies have examined the presence of protozoan parasites from surface waters with irrigation and wash-water applications in the fresh produce industry. In this study, the presence of Cryptosporidium oocysts and Giardia cysts in surface water for irrigation, washing and disinfecting applications was evaluated. In addition, the occurrence of Cryptosporidium oocysts and Giardia cysts was determined in wash-water tanks at selected packinghouses.
