Regulation of anthraquinone biosynthesis in cell cultures of Morinda citrifolia.

Cell cultures of Morinda citrifolia L. are capable of accumulating substantial amounts of anthraquinones. Chorismate formed by the shikimate pathway is an important precursor of these secondary metabolites.
