Introduction: The reduction of the distal tibiofibular syndesmosis (SyTFd) is a crucial factor in the functional prognosis following a suprasyndesmotic ankle fracture. Few studies have compared, using computed tomography (CT), the quality of SyTFd reduction in Weber C ankle fractures (WebC) and Equivalent Weber C (EqWebC) fractures, where there is a medial ligament injury instead of a bony malleolar lesion. This CT-based study aimed to answer the following questions: (1) Do Weber C fractures allow for better reduction of the distal tibiofibular syndesmosis compared to Equivalent Weber C fractures? (2) Are the functional outcomes one year postoperatively better for Weber C fractures compared to Equivalent Weber C fractures?
Hypothesis: The hypothesis was that WebC fractures would present better reduction of the SyTFd than EqWebC fractures due to the restoration of bone anatomy, considering the bony nature of the medial ligament involvement.
Urine collection can be challenging in studies involving small rodents like mice, as the actual methods of collection are anxiogenic and constrain animal welfare while having high variability in the volume of urine collected. To improve the current methods and eventually reduce the impact on the well-being of mice, we developed an innovative 3D-printed urine collection device (UCD). This two-compartment UCD is shaped to fit in classical husbandry cages and allows urine collection by spontaneous urination from two mice housed in their own cage without cross-contamination while enabling potential social interactions.

Introduction: The medical and economic impact of treating pertrochanteric hip fractures is growing. We hypothesized that fast track surgery of pertrochanteric fractures would reduce the length of stay (LOS) without compromising the quality of care.
Materials And Methods: This was a prospective, observational, single-center cohort study conducted between 2014 and 2016 at the Angers Teaching Hospital in France.
Objective: MARK4 (microtubule affinity-regulating kinase 4) regulates NLRP3 (nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain, leucine-rich repeat, and pyrin domain containing 3) inflammasome activation. The aim of the study is to examine the role of MARK4 in hematopoietic cells during atherosclerosis.
Methods And Results: We show increased MARK4 expression in human atherosclerotic lesions compared with adjacent areas.

Background: The Asp358Ala variant (rs2228145; A>C) in the IL (interleukin)-6 receptor ( IL6R) gene has been implicated in the development of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs), but its effect on AAA growth over time is not known. We aimed to investigate the clinical association between the IL6R-Asp358Ala variant and AAA growth and to assess the effect of blocking the IL-6 signaling pathway in mouse models of aortic aneurysm rupture or dissection.
Methods: Using data from 2863 participants with AAA from 9 prospective cohorts, age- and sex-adjusted mixed-effects linear regression models were used to estimate the association between the IL6R-Asp358Ala variant and annual change in AAA diameter (mm/y).
