This paper adopts a qualitative research approach to explore individuals' perceptions of the factors linked to daily soft drink consumption among university students in Saudi Arabia.

Access to oral health care services for children with disabilities: a mixed methods systematic review.

Background: Children with disabilities experience poorer oral health and frequently have complex needs. The accessibility of oral health care services for children with disabilities is crucial for promoting oral health and overall well-being. This study aimed to systematically review the literature to identify the barriers and facilitators to oral health care services for children with disabilities, and to propose priority research areas for the planning and provision of dental services to meet their needs.

However, assessing the quality and effectiveness of such information remains a challenge, particularly concerning traditional practices such as Miswak () usage. This study aims to assess the description, use, and effectiveness of the Miswak () chewing stick posted as video clips on YouTube™ and provide considerations for future interventions.

A qualitative investigation of dental internships in Saudi Arabia: Exploring the experiences of dental interns.

Background: For dental graduates, internships are a vital transitional phase that gives them the invaluable opportunity to close the gap between their academic studies and the reality of professional dentistry. Research on dental internships remains limited and most of the existing studies focus on the clinical aspects of dental internships with little attention given to dental interns' experiences overall. This study aims to bridge this gap in the literature by gaining an in-depth understanding of Saudi dental graduates' range of experiences as dental interns.

Ethnographic perspectives of mothers and professionals on including children with disabilities in oral health in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Background: Children with disabilities generally face poorer oral health outcomes compared with their non-disabled peers due to a range of factors including inadequate oral hygiene, infrequent dental visits and systemic barriers in accessing care.

Aim: This ethnographic study explored the perspectives of caregivers and professionals to identify the ways that children with disabilities are included in oral health.

Design: A purposive sample of 10 caregivers, all mothers with disabled children aged 9-15 years, five healthcare providers and five educators in Saudi Arabia, participated.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the knowledge of monkeypox infection among dental hygiene professionals and students in Saudi Arabia.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among a convenience sample of dental hygiene professionals (n = 259). The questionnaire was developed based on previous literature, and descriptive analysis and a Chi-square test were performed.

The aim of this state-of-the-art review is to provide a comprehensive overview of the various therapeutic effects of Mastic (Pistacia lentiscus) gum on oral health. Surgical Protocols before and after COVID-19-A Narrative Review.

The COVID-19 epidemic has affected not only people's daily lives but also the working methods of clinicians, surgical procedures, open/minimally invasive procedures, operating room management, patient and healthcare worker safety, education and training. The main objective of this study was to review selected articles and determine the changes in the general surgery protocols/procedures before and after the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. The literature was carried out in PubMed-Medline, Cochrane Library, Embase, Scopus and Google Scholar.

Impact of virtual supervised tooth brushing on caries experience and quality of life among primary school children: study protocol for a randomized controlled trial.

Background: Dental caries is one of the most common diseases affecting children world widely as well as in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Supervised tooth brushing programs are implemented throughout the world to provide young children's developing teeth with additional fluoride as a form of dental caries prevention. While school-based supervised tooth brushing programs have been proven to improve young children's oral health, virtual supervised teeth brushing programs have not been assessed.

Oral health experiences and perceptions of children with disabilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Background: The clinical focus on oral health means there is a scarcity of evidence from the perspectives of children with disabilities because of the continuing exclusion of their views from oral health research. This study takes a rights-based approach, aiming to give disabled children a voice by exploring their oral health perspectives and experiences. In order to do this, innovative and inclusive methods are needed.

Contextual income inequality and adolescents' oral-health-related quality of life: A multi-level analysis.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to test the association of current contextual income inequality, contextual income inequality experienced during childhood, and individual factors with oral-health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) in adolescents.

Methods: Individual data of 3,854 adolescents aged 15-19 years from the Brazilian Oral Health Survey (SB Brasil Project) nested within 27 cities and contextual income inequality were analysed. OHRQoL was assessed using the Oral Impacts on Daily Performance (OIDP) questionnaire.

The inclusion of children with disabilities in oral health research: A systematic review.

Objective: This systematic review aimed to describe the extent to which oral health research since the advent of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the current movement on the inclusion of voices of children, has been done on or with children with disabilities.

Methods: A systematic review of the dental literature for children with disabilities from 2001 to 2017 was conducted. Electronic databases were searched for oral health literature on the involvement of children with disabilities.

Are school and home environmental characteristics associated with oral health-related quality of life in Brazilian adolescents and young adults?

Objectives: The aim of this study was to test the association of contextual school and home environmental characteristics and individual factors with oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) in a representative sample of Brazilian adolescents and young adults.

Methods: Individual-level data from 3854 fifteen- to nineteen-year-olds who participated in the Brazilian Oral Health Survey were pooled with contextual city-level data. The dependent variable was the frequency of impacts of oral disorders on daily performances (OIDP extent), as a measure of OHRQoL.
