The Philadelphia chromosome (Ph) resulting from the t(9;22) translocation generates the oncogenic BCR::ABL1 fusion protein that is most commonly associated with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and Ph-positive (Ph+) acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). There are also rare instances of patients (≤1%) with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) that harbor this translocation (Paietta et al., 1881 [1998]; Keung et al.

Methods: This study leveraged the nationally representative survey of older adults and their unpaid caregivers residing in the USA: the 2017 National Health and Aging Trends Study and National Study of Caregiving. Participants were unpaid caregivers for community-dwelling older adults.
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a heterogeneous malignancy with the most common genomic alterations in NPM1, DNMT3A, and FLT3. Midostaurin was the first FLT3 inhibitor FDA approved for AML and is standard of care for FLT3 mutant patients undergoing induction chemotherapy [1, 2]. As there is a spectrum of response, we hypothesized that biological factors beyond FLT3 could play a role in drug sensitivity and that select FLT3-ITD negative samples may also demonstrate sensitivity.

The aetiological role of infection with high-risk human papilloma viruses (HPVs) in cervical carcinomas is well established. Previous studies have also implicated somatic mutations in PIK3CA, PTEN, TP53, STK11 and KRAS as well as several copy-number alterations in the pathogenesis of cervical carcinomas.

Data from 60 consecutive patients treated using stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for primary non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) formed the basis of this study. Four treatment plans were generated per data set: IMRT/VMAT plans using sectored (-s) and circumferential (-c) configurations.
