Primary autoimmune haemolytic anaemia (AIHA) causes the destruction of red blood cells and a subsequent pro-thrombotic state, potentially increasing the risk of ischaemic stroke. We investigated the risk of ischaemic stroke in patients with AIHA in a binational study. We used prospectively collected data from nationwide registers in Denmark and France to identify cohorts of patients with primary AIHA and age- and sex-matched general population comparators.

Drug-induced immune hemolytic anemia: detection of new signals and risk assessment in a nationwide cohort study.

More than 130 drugs have been suspected to induce immune hemolytic anemia. Comparative studies measuring the risk of drug-induced immune hemolytic anemia (DIIHA) are lacking. We aimed (1) to detect new signals of DIIHA, excluding vaccines, and (2) to assess the association between all suspected drugs and the occurrence of immune hemolytic anemia in a nationwide comparative study.

Rhombencephalosynapsis (RS) is a rare cerebellar malformation characterized by the association of partial or total vermis agenesis and fusion of the cerebellar hemispheres. This malformation is often associated with supratentorial cerebral abnormalities and more rarely with extra-cranial abnormalities. The severity of the clinical manifestations and the prognosis of RS depend on the findings of the posterior fossa and the associated anomalies.

Methods: First, we performed a natural language processing by text-mining analysis and with unsupervised (machine learning) topic modeling on a sample of the last 10,000 tweets in English posted with the term #autism (January 2021).

Risk of vaso-occlusive episode after exposure to corticosteroids in patients with sickle cell disease.

Vaso-occlusive episodes (VOEs) are a major concern in patients with sickle cell disease (SCD). Exposure to systemic corticosteroids has been suspected to increase the occurrence of VOEs in case reports or series. No comparative study has been conducted to investigate this risk, which is still debated.

We aimed to assess the risk factors of venous thrombosis (VT) and arterial thrombosis (AT) in adults with primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), particularly in relation to treatments. The population comprised all incident primary ITP adults in France between 2009 and 2017 (FAITH cohort; NCT03429660) built in the national health database. Outcomes were the first hospitalisation for VT and AT.

This article proposes to investigate how Sleep disorders have been conceptualized within the DSM-5 through symptom network analysis of the diagnostic criteria of the "Sleep-Wake Disorders" section in the DSM-5. We hypothesize that the analysis of the most central symptoms will allow us to better analyze the position of Sleep disorders in Mental disorders. We thus i) extracted the symptoms of the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria of Sleep-Wake disorders, ii) built the Sleep-Wake disorder DSM-5 network representation, and iii) quantified its structure at local and global levels using classical symptom network analysis.

The third edition of the International Classification of Sleep Disorders (ICSD-3) is the authoritative clinical text for the diagnosis of sleep disorders. An important issue of sleep nosology is to better understand the relationship between symptoms found in conventional diagnostic manuals and to compare classifications. Nevertheless, to our knowledge, there is no specific exhaustive work on the general structure of the networks of symptoms of sleep disorders as described in diagnostic manuals.

[TAFRO syndrome and cutaneous necrotizing vasculitis].

Introduction: TAFRO syndrome is a systemic inflammatory syndrome in the spectrum of Castleman's disease, associating thrombocytopenia, anasarca, fever, renal failure and/or reticulin myelofibrosis and organomegaly. Its association with necrotizing cutaneous vasculitis has not yet been reported.

Case Report: A 69-year-old woman presented with weight loss, fever, anasarca, organomegaly, lymphadenopathy, anuria and extensive necrotic livedo occurring after acute diarrhea.

Acute genital ulcers are painful and distressing to women. Lipchutz Ulcer is an uncommon disease that typically occurs in sexually inactive young women. The main differential diagnosis are sexually-transmitted or non-infectious diseases which cause genital or oro-genital ulcerations.

Evidence for Bone and Mineral Metabolism Alterations in Children With Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease.

Context: Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) is the most common hereditary kidney disease. Hypophosphatemia was demonstrated in adult patients with preserved renal function, together with high fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) and low soluble Klotho levels. The latter explained the relative FGF23 hyporesponsiveness in this cohort.

Complications of (pre)eclampsia may involve multiple systems and organs. Neurological symptoms may occur. Visual symptoms concern up to 25% the of patients with severe preeclampsia and 50% of the patients with eclampsia.

Surgical outcomes of uveitic glaucoma.

[Decompression retinopathy with maculopathy after trabeculectomy with mitomycin C].

Case Report: We present a case of decompression retinopathy with retinal haemorrhages, optic nerve haemorrhages, maculopathy, and decreased visual acuity after trabeculectomy with mitomycin-C.

Discussion: Decompression retinopathy is a potential complication after glaucoma surgery but has been rarely reported in the world literature. Although these four characteristics have been described separately, in this patient all four occurred together.

Revisiting silicate substituted hydroxyapatite by solid-state NMR.

Silicon-substituted hydroxyapatite (Si-HAp) has shown promising properties such as high-bone remodeling around implants. So far, the techniques used for the structural characterization of the Si-HAp have given indirect evidence of the presence of silicon inside the structure (by X-ray and neutron diffraction). In this paper, we focus on Si-HAp derivatives obtained by a precipitation method (widely described in the literature).
