Diabetes mellitus (DM), a prevalent metabolic disorder, is intricately linked to various infectious diseases. Notably, osteomyelitis (OM), an infection affecting bone tissue, exhibits a higher incidence in individuals with DM. The primary objective of this study was to establish the causal association between DM and OM through Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis while also investigating potential mediating factors that may contribute to this relationship.

It is yet unknown how spine fracture in adults relate to the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index. This study investigated the link between TyG index and spine fracture in the adult population of the United States by analyzing information derived from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Ultimately, this study comprised 10,187 participants was drawn from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2005-2010, 2013-2014, and 2017-2020).
