Article Synopsis
  • Up-conversion single-photon detectors (UCSPDs) are effective in measuring weak light in the mid-infrared range, particularly at 3.39μm.
  • The study introduced a method for determining UCSPD detection efficiency using visible-infrared correlated photons from spontaneous parametric down-conversion, avoiding the need for traditional infrared light sources or detectors.
  • Key findings indicated that the measured detection efficiency was 0.0085 with a low relative uncertainty of 2.8%, and that bandwidth matching between trigger and test channels is crucial for accurate calibration.

Article Synopsis
  • - The text discusses a new method for improving the scanning speed of LiDAR systems by modifying the front focal length of the transmitter to counteract the effects of laser divergence at short distances.
  • - It explains that the laser divergence angle, which influences the scanning speed, is related to the distance from the laser lens to the target, based on the thin lens equation for Gaussian beams.
  • - Experimental results show that adjusting the laser divergence angle can enhance scanning speed while maintaining effective target detection in close-range environments.

This paper presents a method for measuring the optical assembly results based on multi-beam biaxial LiDAR. This method analyzes the optical assembly parameters of a LiDAR system affecting the LiDAR operation, and an experimental measurement system is built using a collimator to simulate the infinity imaging field. An InGaAs infrared camera is used to take pictures of the laser spot from the LiDAR transmitter and receiver, and then fit the laser spot images with Gaussian equations to calculate the biaxial LiDAR optical assembly results.
