Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the connection between the metastasis of hepatocarcinoma cells to lymph nodes and the activity of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), along with the expression of Fas ligand in tumor cells.
  • The researchers used zymographic analysis to examine MMPs in HCC cells with varying metastatic potential, alongside flow cytometry to assess lymphocyte growth in tumor-bearing mice.
  • The findings revealed a significant increase in MMP-9 levels in the presence of lymph node extracts, particularly in high metastatic potential HCC cells (Hca-F), suggesting a potential mechanism for lymphogenous metastasis in hepatocarcinoma.

AIM:To study the effect of cell fusion on metastatic ability of mouse hepatocarcinoma cells and the factors involved in the process of metastasis.METHODS: By the method of successively increasing the concentrations, cell fusion and limit dilution, 8-Ag resistant cells were selected, and HGPRT-Hca-P cells and eight cloned hybridoma cells were obtained. To observe their metastatic ability, they were inoculated into mice foodtaps and the drainage lymph nodes were examined under microscope.
