Unlabelled: The rate of polymyxin-resistant , as well as human and animal infections caused by them, is increasing worldwide, posing a high epidemiological threat since colistin represents a last-resort antibiotic to treat complicated infections. The study of environmental niches, in particular, aquatic ecosystems in terms of genome analysis of inhabiting antimicrobial-resistant (AMR) microorganisms as reservoirs of acquired resistance determinants (AMR genes), represents a specific concern from a One Health approach. Here, we present a phenotypic AMR analysis and molecular characterization of isolate found in municipal drinking water after an accident in the water supply system of a residential building in Armenia in 2021.

is an important foodborne pathogen worldwide. Ciprofloxacin and extended-spectrum cephalosporins are the common first-line antimicrobial drugs for the treatment of salmonellosis, antimicrobial resistance genes for which are mostly transferred via plasmids. The goal of this work was to perform genomic analysis of plasmids from foodborne isolates obtained in Russia based on whole-genome sequencing.

This study provides a thorough investigation of a diverse set of antimicrobial resistant (AMR) isolates collected from a broad range of ready-to-eat (RTE) food in various geographic regions of Russia ranging from Pskov to Kamchatka. Thirty-five isolates were characterized using the whole genome sequencing (WGS) analysis in terms of clonal structure, the presence of resistance and virulence determinants, as well as plasmid replicon sequences and CRISPR/Cas systems. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first WGS-based surveillance of Russian RTE food-associated isolates.

Non-typhoidal infections remain a significant public health problem worldwide. In this study, we present the first detailed genomic analysis report based on short-read (Illumina) whole-genome sequencing (WGS) of 45 multidrug-resistant (MDR) subsp. serotype Infantis isolates from poultry and meat product samples obtained in Russia during 2018-2020, and long-read (MinION) WGS of five more representative isolates.

The new kit of reagents in format of the immunochip "ImmunoChip Borreliosis" for multiplex serologic analysis of mite-borne borreliosis demonstrated high diagnostic sensitivity and specificity. The percentage of detection of specific immunoglobulins was higher in "ImmunoChip Borreliosis" as compared with screening results in immune enzyme analysis. The high correlation between results of testing in immunochip and data of immune blotting is demonstrated to.

Studying the sensitivity and specificity of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the indication of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) virus antigens and those of reverse transcription and polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) for the detection of CCHF virus RNA, and those of a intercerebral infection method in newborn albino mice systems for the determination of viral infectious activity established that the sensitivity of ELISA was 1-2 orders of magnitude less than that of RP-PCR. The latter proved to be better in studying the sera sampled from patients with CCHF. The results of studying the samples of H.

Three foreign and one Russian ELISA test-systems for detection of IgM to Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato were comparatively studied with the use of the clinical material in an encoded experiment. In the foreign ELISA test-systems based on the use of native antigens of borrelia, cross reactions with sera from patients with syphilis, Epstein-Barr infection, cytomegalovirus infection and systemic lupus erythematosus were detected. The Russian recombinant ELISA test-system Borreliosis-ELISA-IgM showed high sensitivity and specificity.

Four foreign and one Russian 1st generation test-systems for detecting class G antibodies or summary antibodies to Borrelia burkdorferi sensu lato were comparitively investigated with the use of the clinical material under conditions of an encoded experiment. Cross reactions with sera from patients with syphilis, Epstein-Barr infection, cytomegalovirus infection and systemic lupus erythematosus were observed. The best specificity and sensitivity parameters were provided by the Enzygnost Borreliosis test-system.

A test system for detecting species-specific class A antibodies to Chlamydia trachomatis, making use of recombinant chlamydial antigen, is developed in Russia for the first time. Its efficiency was demonstrated in blind clinical trials. The sensitivity, specificity, activity, and use of Chlamy-IgA-DC-Tr test system are not inferior to foreign analogs.

The effect of pathogenetic therapy in the normalization of homeostasis disturbances in monkeys has been shown under experimental conditions. Data on the possibility of using hemosorption in the treatment of severe forms of glanders are presented. The conclusion on the necessity of using complex treatment for the effective therapy of glanders in humans has been made.

Some aspects of homeostasis impairment in monkeys infected with Pseudomonas mallei were investigated. The levels of the hormonal shifts, complement components, beta 2-microglobulin and prostaglandins evident of the infection severity were estimated. The pathomorphological profiles of various forms of malleus in the primates were studied.

The spectrum of cross resistance in tetracycline resistant strains of Pseudomonas mallei was studied. Possible use of antibacterial drugs in the prevention and treatment of mallel due to such strains was investigated in the experiments on golden hamsters and monkeys. It was shown that the efficacy of the minocycline therapy depended on the level of the strain resistance to tetracycline antibiotics.
