In this context, Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) represents a promising pathway to be inhibited, aiming to develop anticancer agents, since it performs a pivotal role in regulating essential cellular processes, including cell proliferation, growth, autophagy, and apoptosis.
