This research is framed in the area of biomathematics and contributes to the epidemiological surveillance entities in Colombia to clarify how breast cancer mortality rate (BCM) is spatially distributed in relation to the forest area index (FA) and circulating vehicle index (CV). In this regard, the World Health Organization has highlighted the scarce generation of knowledge that relates mortality from tumor diseases to environmental factors. Quantitative methods based on geospatial data science are used with cross-sectional information from the 2018 census; it's found that the BCM in Colombia is not spatially randomly distributed, but follows cluster aggregation patterns.

Findings demonstrating decision-related neural activity preceding volitional actions have dominated the discussion about how science can inform the free will debate. These discussions have largely ignored studies suggesting that decisions might be influenced or biased by various unconscious processes. If these effects are indeed real, do they render subjects' decisions less free or even unfree? Here, we argue that, while unconscious influences on decision-making do not threaten the existence of free will in general, they provide important information about limitations on freedom in specific circumstances.

In this paper, we aim to open up new perspectives in the field of autonomous aerial surveillance and target tracking systems, by exploring an alternative that, surprisingly, and to the best of the authors' knowledge, has not been addressed in that context by the research community thus far. It can be summarized by the following two questions. Under the scope of such applications, what are the implications and possibilities offered by mounting several steerable cameras onboard of each aerial agent? Second, how can optimization algorithms benefit from this new framework, in their attempt to provide more efficient and cost-effective solutions on these areas? The paper presents the idea as an additional degree of freedom to be exploited, which can enable more efficient alternatives in the deployment of such applications.

Purpose: Tracking patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and quality-of-life response rates is essential for clinical trials. Historically, rates are monitored through scheduled reports, which can require gathering, merging, and cleaning data from multiple databases. At the end of this process, if gaps are found, new data are entered and the cycle repeats, leaving a trail of reports that are not up-to-date or immediately accessible to the investigator.

This work proposes a new edge about the Chaotic Genetic Algorithm (CGA) and the importance of the entropy in the initial population. Inspired by chaos theory, the CGA uses chaotic maps to modify the stochastic parameters of Genetic Algorithm. The algorithm modifies the parameters of the initial population using chaotic series and then analyzes the entropy of such population.

Background: Currently available evidence suggests a potentially protective role for interleukin (IL)-10 in atherosclerosis. Reactive oxygen species, such as superoxide anion, hydrogen peroxide, peroxynitrite, and hydroxyl radical, seem to play a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of ischemia-reperfusion injury. The aim of this study was to assess whether a rise in lipid peroxidation (LPx), as malondialdehyde (MDA) and 4 hydroxyalkenal (4-HNE), during acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is associated with serum concentrations of IL-10.
