Conventional technologies to monitor torque feedback and angle in exoskeleton actuators are bulky and sensitive to misalignments, and do not allow for multiplexed operation. Fiber Bragg grating (FBG)-based sensors are a robust sensing approach that are desirable for multi-parametric monitoring.
