Article Synopsis
  • The study explored the effectiveness of a polymer-based absorbable bioprosthesis with bone scaffold in treating bile duct injuries in pigs following cholecystectomy.
  • At three follow-up points (1, 3, and 6 months), no significant liver function changes or complications were observed, and imaging studies demonstrated no obstructions in the bile duct.
  • The results indicated that the bioprosthesis successfully supported tissue regeneration, suggesting it could be a viable option for replacing the bile duct in cases of injury or cancer.
