Background: Data on the efficacy and safety of screening for prostate cancer with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are needed from studies of follow-up screening.
Methods: In a population-based trial that started in 2015, we invited men who were 50 to 60 years of age to undergo prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screening. Men with a PSA level of 3 ng per milliliter or higher underwent MRI of the prostate.
Objectives: Investigating men's perceived lifetime risk of prostate cancer.
Design: Survey-based study to men invited for prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screening in the GÖTEBORG-2 trial between September 2015 and June 2020.
Setting: 38 775 men in the Gothenburg area, Sweden, were invited for PSA-testing and participated in a survey.
Virucidal filter materials were prepared by electrospinning a solution of 28 wt % poly(vinylidene difluoride) in N,N-dimethylacetamide without and with the addition of 0.25 wt %, 0.75 wt %, 2.

Methods: In the GÖTEBORG-2 PC screening trial, 38 000men (50-60 yr) were invited to PSA testing and, if elevated, followed by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). For 571 men with PSA ≥3.
Objective: Several risk factors for end-stage renal disease (ESRD), in patients undergoing surgical treatment for renal cell carcinoma (RCC), have been suggested by others. This study aimed to investigate such risk factors and disclose the effect of developing ESRD, postoperatively, on overall survival. The risk of developing ESRD after RCC diagnosis was also evaluated.

Several studies have shown that reusable tourniquets can affect the spread of pathogens between patients. Based on available studies, this review aims to analyse the indirect transmission of antimicrobial-resistant pathogens present on blood collection tourniquets, which may spread infectious diseases between patients in daily clinical practice.

Objective: To evaluate the acceptance and bother of prostate cancer screening examinations.
Design, Setting, And Participants: The randomized population-based GÖTEBORG-2 prostate cancer screening trial invited >37 000 men for prostate-specific antigen (PSA) testing followed by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in case of elevated PSA and prostate biopsy (targeted and/or systematic) if indicated.
Introduction: During transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP), the most established surgical treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) due to benign prostatic obstruction (BPO), the prostate can bleed profusely, bringing about anaemia and compromised oxygen delivery to the entire body.
Objective: The primary objective of this study was to assess the efficacy of mepivacaine and adrenaline (MA) injected into the prostate on bleeding. The primary endpoint was to measure blood loss per resected weight of prostate tissue.
Objective: Nationwide register data provide unique opportunities for real-world assessment of complications from different surgical methods. This study aimed to assess incidence of, and predictors for, post-operative complications and to evaluate 90-day mortality following different surgical procedures and thermal ablation for renal cell carcinoma (RCC).
Material And Methods: All patients undergoing surgical treatment and thermal ablation for RCC in Sweden during 2015-2019 were identified from the National Swedish Kidney Cancer Register.
Children continue to experience harm when undergoing clinical procedures despite increased evidence of the need to improve the provision of child-centred care. The international ISupport collaboration aimed to develop standards to outline and explain good procedural practice and the rights of children within the context of a clinical procedure. The rights-based standards for children undergoing tests, treatments, investigations, examinations and interventions were developed using an iterative, multi-phased, multi-method and multi-stakeholder consensus building approach.

Nanofibrous filter materials were prepared by electrospinning a solution of 28 wt% poly(vinylidene fluoride) in N,N-dimethylacetamide with and without the addition of 2 wt% AgNO, Cu(NO)·2.5HO or ZnCl. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, contact angle measurement, nitrogen sorption, and mercury intrusion porosimetry methods were used for the characterization of physical structure as well as the chemical composition of the electrospun materials.

The recently synthesized 2-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenide LiCrTe[Formula: see text], being a 2D-TLA, enriched the range of materials which can present such properties. In this work, muon spin rotation ([Formula: see text]SR) and neutron powder diffraction (NPD) have been utilized to reveal the true magnetic nature and ground state of LiCrTe[Formula: see text].

Methods: We invited 37,887 men who were 50 to 60 years of age to undergo regular prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screening.
Background: The risk of death from prostate cancer (PC) depends on age, but the age at which to start prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screening remains uncertain.
Objective: To study the relationship between risk reduction for PC mortality and age at first PSA screening.
Design, Setting, And Participants: The randomized Göteborg-1 trial invited men for biennial PSA screening between the ages of 50 and 70 yr (screening, n = 10 000) or no invitation but exposure to opportunistic PSA testing (control, n = 10 000).
The magnetic phase diagram of Sr[Formula: see text]Ca[Formula: see text]Co[Formula: see text]P[Formula: see text] as a function of hydrostatic pressure and temperature is investigated by means of high pressure muon spin rotation, relaxation and resonance ([Formula: see text]SR). The weak pressure dependence for the [Formula: see text] compounds suggests that the rich phase diagram of Sr[Formula: see text]Ca[Formula: see text]Co[Formula: see text]P[Formula: see text] as a function of x at ambient pressure may not solely be attributed to chemical pressure effects. The [Formula: see text] compound on the other hand reveals a high pressure dependence, where the long range magnetic order is fully suppressed at [Formula: see text] kbar, which seem to be a first order transition.

Material And Methods: We used register-based data to evaluate 6 675 consecutive patients having radical prostatectomy in Västra Götaland county in Sweden during 1995-2014. Patients were followed until death or end of study, 31 December 2014.
Objectives: We aim to determine if robot-assisted retroperitoneal lymph node dissection (R-RPLND) can be performed as a safe option to open RPLND in selected patients with metastatic germ cell cancer.
Patients And Methods: This population-based prospective study was performed at a one of two national referral centres for RPLND in Sweden. All patients referred during January 2017-March 2021 were screened for possible inclusion.
X-ray absorption and resonant inelastic x-ray scattering spectra of LaPtSisingle crystal at the Si 2and La 4edges are presented. The data are interpreted in terms of density functional theory, showing that the Si spectra can be described in terms of Siandlocal partial density of states (LPDOS), and the La spectra are due to quasi-atomic local 4excitations. Calculations show that Pt-LPDOS dominates the occupied states, and a sharp localized Lastate is found in the unoccupied states, in line with the observations.

Patients And Methods: The study population comprised all men undergoing RP between 1997 and 2016 in the Prostate Cancer database Sweden (PCBaSe) (n = 40 962). By (1:2) matching, two cohorts were created: 2789 men exposed to postoperative RT and 5578 unexposed men with comparable age, comorbidities, and year of surgery.
Purpose: Our goal was to analyze results from 22 years of followup in the Göteborg randomized prostate cancer (PC) screening trial.
Materials And Methods: In December 1994, 20,000 men born 1930-1944 were randomly extracted from the Swedish population register and were randomized (1:1) into either a screening group (SG) or to a control group (CG). Men in the SG were repeatedly invited for biennial prostate specific antigen testing up to an average age of 69 years.
Static stripe order is detrimental to superconductivity. Yet, it has been proposed that transverse stripe fluctuations may enhance the inter-stripe Josephson coupling and thus promote superconductivity. Direct experimental studies of stripe dynamics, however, remain difficult.
