This study aimed to develop a highly efficient nanocomposite composed of magnetic chitosan/molybdenum disulfide (CS/MoS/FeO) for the removal of three polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)-pyrene, anthracene, and phenanthrene. Novelty was introduced through the innovative synthesis procedure and the utilization of magnetic properties for enhanced adsorption capabilities. Additionally, the greenness of chitosan as a sorbent component was emphasized, highlighting its biodegradability and low environmental impact compared to traditional sorbents.

A novel nanomagnet modified with nickel ferrite nanoparticles (NPs) coated with hybrid chitosan (Cs-NiFeO) was synthesized using the co-precipitation method. The resulting nanomagnets were characterized using various techniques. The size of the nanomagnetic particles was estimated to be about 40 nm based on the transmission electron microscopy (TEM) image and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) pattern (using the Debye-Scherrer equation).

The effect of an edible film based on sage seed gum (SSG) incorporating 3 % Zataria multiflora Boiss essential oil (ZEO) was investigated on the storage quality and shelf life of tiger-tooth croaker (Otolithes ruber) fillets during storage at 4 ± 1 °C compared to the control film (SSG film without ZEO) and the Cellophane. The SSG-ZEO film significantly decelerated microbial growth (evaluated by total viable count, total psychrotrophic count, pH, TVBN) and lipid oxidation (evaluated by TBARS) compared to the others (P ˂ 0.05).

In this paper, a theoretical framework relying on the reciprocity theorem is proposed to accurately design a spectrally-selective THz superstrate-loaded metamaterial absorber (SLMA) exhibiting wide-angle feature. By leveraging high-order Floquet harmonics in a generalized transmission line model characterizing the conventional metamaterial absorbers (MAs), it is demonstrated that MAs suffer from impedance mismatch, especially at near grazing angles. From an impedance matching viewpoint, this major challenge is tackled in this paper via two different designs, exploiting a magneto-electric anisotropic Huygens' metamaterial and a multilayer dielectric structure at a certain distance over the MA plane.

This study investigated the effects of an educational program designed to improve the knowledge and attitudes of senior dental students in an Iranian dental school about caring for patients with HIV/AIDS. As part of an extramural program in community dentistry, a new educational program about HIV/AIDS was developed at Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 2009. The program consisted of two days' observation at the Consultation Center for Behavioral Diseases and a one-day workshop on infection control.
