Background: Pediatric solid organ transplantation is challenging due to the limited availability of suitable organs resulting in an increasing waitlist. Many pediatric transplant recipients receive organs from deceased donors, often after neurologic determination of death. Organ donation from patients on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) at the time of death has been described in adults, offering the potential for donation after circulatory determination of death (DCDD) with minimal ischemia time.

Gastric remnant volvulus following gastric sleeve conversion to Roux-en-Y gastric bypass: a case report.

Gastric remnant volvulus following Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) surgery is rare, with only two previously reported cases. Herein, we present the first case of gastric remnant volvulus following gastric sleeve conversion to RYGB in a 32-year-old female. Management for gastric remnant volvulus has not been clearly described in the literature due to the rarity of cases; however, previously documented cases of gastric remnant volvulus following RYGB were managed with gastropexy or resection of the gastric remnant.

Colistin, a polymyxin antibiotic, is increasingly used to manage infections caused by multidrug-resistant gram-negative bacteria. This case report documents the occurrence of colistin-induced neurotoxicity manifesting as bulbar palsy in a 38-year-old male with a complex medical history. The patient, presenting with septic shock secondary to a diabetic foot ulcer, was administered colistin and meropenem, leading to a progressive onset of neurological symptoms.

We report the case of a 74-year-old female, who presented with a two-month history of fever, night sweats, and lymphadenopathy. She was thoroughly investigated, with high clinical suspicion for lymphoma. However, lymph node biopsy results revealed histopathological features of a hyaline vascular variant of Castleman disease.
