Background: Emergence agitation (EA) is an important clinical problem that occurs during the initial period of recovery from anesthesia. This study aimed to determine the effects of ketamine and lidocaine administered on agitation level, postoperative pain, and hemodynamic changes in adults after rhinoplasty.

Materials And Methods: Totally 72 patients scheduled to undergo elective rhinoplasty were enrolled in this prospective study.

The Effect of Sumatriptan, Theophylline, Pregabalin and Caffeine on Prevention of Headache Caused By Spinal Anaesthesia (PDPH): A Systematic Review.

Spinal anaesthesia (SA) is a common method during surgery due to easy administration, rapid effects, relaxes muscles and controls pain. But, post-dural puncture headache (PDPH) is a common problem after SA that occurs in 6%-36% of SA. We assessed the effect of four common treatment drugs sumatriptan, theophylline, pregabalin and oral caffeine on prevention of PDPH.

The Effect of Family Presence During Resuscitation and Invasive Procedures on Patients and Families: An Umbrella Review.

Introduction: The concept of family presence during resuscitation and invasive procedures is a controversial issue and has not been universally adopted by health care providers. Owing to the sheer number of studies in this field, we conducted this umbrella study to provide an overview of this concept with the aim of investigating the impact of family presence on patients, families, and resuscitation and invasive procedures.

Methods: In this review, using the Joanna Briggs Institute levels of evidence umbrella methodology guidelines, the authors searched PubMed, Google Scholar, Embase, MEDLINE, Web of Science, Scopus, and the Cochrane database for systematic review and meta-analysis studies that evaluated the presence of family during resuscitation and invasive procedures without time limit until July 2020.
