It is crucial to improve the targeting of drugs on tumor cells and tissues. Celastrol (CeT), as an active ingredient of traditional Chinese medicine, possesses strong antitumor effects, especially in triggering apoptosis of HCC.

Methods: The antidepressant mechanism of luteolin was studied by using CUMS rat model and primary hippocampal neurons in fetal rats. , novelty suppressed feeding, open-field and sucrose preference tests as well as Morris water maze were evaluated.
Vaccines are one of the most important means to prevent and control the epidemic of infectious diseases. Commercial vaccines not only include corresponding antigens, but also need vaccine adjuvants. Immune adjuvants play an increasingly important role in the research, development and manufacture of vaccines.

Finally, gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry (GC-IMS) was used to compare the differences between the VOCs, and then qualitatively analyse the components and contents of each part of the VOCs The results showed that under the three irradiation doses of Co-γ 0, 5 and 10 kGy, the VOCs of unirradiated and 5 kGy-irradiated samples were closer, and the samples irradiated at a 10 kGy dose were quite different from the other two components, meaning that when the calamus medicinal materials were sterilised by means of Co irradiation, the dose of 5 kGy was closer to the original compound content of the medicinal materials.

Despite substantial advancements in the pathophysiology of MDD in recent years, the pathogenesis of this disorder is not fully understood. Meanwhile, the treatment of MDD with currently available antidepressants is inadequate, highlighting the urgent need for clarifying the pathophysiology of MDD and developing novel therapeutics.

Previous studies have shown that although cantharidin has definite curative effects on primary liver cancer, it is associated with numerous toxic and side effects. Therefore, based on the glycyrrhetinic acid (GA) binding site and the asialoglycoprotein receptor (ASGPR) on the hepatocyte membrane, the surface of CTD liposomes was modified with stearyl alcohol galactoside (SA-Gal) or/and the newly synthesized 3-succinic-30-stearyl deoxyglycyrrhetinic acid (11-DGA-Suc) ligands, and the physicochemical properties, pharmacokinetics, and anti-liver tumor activity and its mechanism of modified liposomes were investigated.

The majority of conventional antidepressants are monoaminergic system selective inhibitors, yet the efficacies are not sufficient. Up to 30% of depressed patients are resistant to treatment with available antidepressants, underscoring the urgent need for development of novel therapeutics to meet clinical needs.

Depressive Disorder is a common mood disorder or affective disorder that is dominated by depressed mood. It is characterized by a high incidence and recurrence. The onset of depression is related to genetic, biological and psychosocial factors.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThere has been ample research showing that insomnia is a potential trigger of depression as well as a symptom of depression. These two factors contribute to behavioural problems and are closely related to the plasticity of hippocampal synapses. Although depression and insomnia impair hippocampal synaptic plasticity, the mechanism by which this happens remains a mystery.

Objective: The therapeutic efficacy of apigenin in PC12 cells and rats remains uncertain. The aim of this study was to investigate the neuroprotective effects of apigenin against cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury, both and .
Methods: We first treated PC12 cells with cobalt chloride (CoCl) to create a model of oxidative stress injury.
Cantharidin (CTD), a natural Chinese medicine constituent extracted from mylabris, is a potent drug against hepatocellular carcinoma. However, the clinical application of CTD was limited because of its toxicity and low solubility. In this work, a novel CTD-loaded liposome modified with 3-succinyl-30-stearyl glycyrrhetinic acid (18-GA-Suc-CTD-Lip) was prepared to enhance liver-targeting efficiency and antitumor activity.
