Objective: Many studies have suggested that indexes of nutritional status, such as body mass index (BMI), serum albumin (ALB), serum pre-albumin (PA), and hemoglobin, may be used as risk factors for the prognosis of HIV or lymphoma. Therefore, this study aimed to retrospectively analyze and explore the value of nutritional status in the prognostic assessment of patients with AIDS-related lymphoma (ARL).
Methods: In this retrospective study, the clinical data of 69 patients with ARL were collected.
This paper describes a method for the quantitative detection of cells expressing BlaC, a β-lactamase naturally expressed by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, intended for the diagnosis of tuberculosis. The method is based on the compartmentalization of bacteria in picoliter droplets at limiting dilutions such that each drop contains one or no cells. The co-encapsulation of a fluorogenic substrate probe for BlaC allows the quantification of bacteria by enumerating the number of fluorescent drops.

The success of droplet microfluidics has thus far relied on one type of surfactant for the stabilization of drops. However, surfactants are known to have two key limitations: (1) interdrop molecular transport leads to cross-contamination of droplet contents, and (2) the incompatibility with the growth of adherent mammalian cells as the liquid-liquid interface is too soft for cell adhesion.
