Introduction: Since the early 2000's, the appeal of certain operating room specialties has decreasedamong medical school graduate students. The recent reform of the second and third cycles of medical studies in France provides an opportunity to set up teaching programs around operating room specialties. We have organised a teaching unit which is part of the final year of medical studies.

Analysis of Growth After Transphyseal Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction in Children.

Background: Pediatric transphyseal anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) bears several advantages and is widely used. The main concern is the risk of growth disturbance. Our purpose was to investigate the incidence and risk factors of growth disturbance in skeletally immature patients who underwent transphyseal ACLR.

Boot camp approach to surgical residency preparation: feedback from a French university hospital.

Introduction: The transition from medical student to surgical resident is not a simple one. The aim of this study was to report the experience of a university hospital in the organization of the induction course for future surgical residents and the contribution of a video support in the learning of the suture.

Material And Method: We were able to study two consecutive years of students (October 2020 and 2021).

Pediatric traumatology in "green zone" during Covid-19 lockdown: A single-center study.

Introduction: The 8-week lockdown for the Covid-19 epidemic in France restricted travel, and interrupted schooling and sports. The study hypothesis was that this exceptional situation temporarily altered childhood trauma epidemiology.

Material And Method: A prospective study was performed during the 8 weeks of lockdown.

Abnormalities in distal first metatarsal joint surface orientation: Distal Metatarsal Articular Angle and Distal Metatarsal-2 Articular Angle.

Background: Hallux valgus (HV) in adults is an acquired pathology related to 1 metatarsal (M1) abduction. In children, it is related to abnormal M1 joint surface orientation.

Hypothesis: HV deformities in children and adults differ.

Monitoring adolescent idiopathic scoliosis by measuring ribs prominence using surface topography device.

Unlabelled: Due to the danger of repeated exposure to X-rays for patients with Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS), reducing the number of radiographs is necessary. By using Surface Topography (ST), trunk asymmetry evaluation could be used. The number of radiographs required can be reduced by 30% when the radio is used only for patients with worsening ST.

Proximal Fixation in Adolescent Scoliosis Lenke 1 and 3 Treated by Posteromedial Translation Using Sublaminar Bands: Transverse-pedicular Hook Claw Versus Transverse Hook-pedicular Screw Claw.

Study Design: This is retrospective comparative study.

Summary Or Background Data: Numerous studies have focused on the efficacy, safety, and restoration of thoracic kyphosis in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis surgery using posteromedial translation method with sublaminar bands and hook claws at the top. The relevance of exchanging the penultimate anchor, that is, the pedicle hook with a pedicle screw in a hybrid construction has not yet been assessed.

MRI evaluation of the hydration status of non-pathological lumbar intervertebral discs in a pediatric population.

Introduction: The intervertebral disc (IVD) is made up of the annulus fibrosus (AF) and the nucleus pulposus (NP) - an inert hydrated complex. The ability of the IVD to deform is correlated to that of the NP and depends on its hydration. As the IVD ages, its hydration decreases along with its ability to deform.

Deformity correction in thoracic adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

Aims: To compare the rates of sagittal and coronal correction for all-pedicle screw instrumentation and hybrid instrumentation using sublaminar bands in the treatment of thoracic adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS).

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 124 patients who had undergone surgery in two centres for the correction of Lenke 1 or 2 AIS. Radiological evaluation was carried out preoperatively, in the early postoperative phase, and at two-year follow-up.
