Rights-based reproductive services in medical schools in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Chandigarh, India: baseline findings of mixed-methods implementation research.

Introduction: There is a need to assess and strengthen reproductive rights-based family planning and abortion services in Indian medical schools that play a key role in medical education and service delivery. This study presents the findings of baseline assessment across nine schools in two states and one union territory with objective to assess, identify the gaps and improve the status of reproductive rights and evidence-based family planning and abortion services in Indian medical schools.

Methods: A convergent parallel mixed methods study was conducted in nine medical schools in Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Chandigarh a Union territory in India from October 2018 to June 2019.

Sparking attention on African swine fever research on social media platform: An altmetric evaluation of top 100 highly cited articles.

African swine fever (ASF) is one of the highly contagious diseases of pigs that affect both domestic and wild pigs. The primary purpose of this research was to evaluate the online social attention on the ASF research to inform the research scientists and key stakeholders in the field by reporting the concise information of the most influential articles, social engagement, and impacts of the research. This study employed the altmetrics tool to evaluate the research papers.

Simultaneous removal of ternary heavy metal ions by a newly isolated Microbacterium paraoxydans strain VSVM IIT(BHU) from coal washery effluent.

In the present work, the removal of Cr (VI), Cd (II) and Pb (II) at 50 mg/L of each metal ion concentration was investigated by Microbacterium paraoxydans strain VSVM IIT(BHU). The heavy metal binding on the bacterial cell surface was confirmed through X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and energy dispersive X-ray. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis also confirmed the reduction of Cr (VI) to Cr (III).

Background: In a study conducted in Bhopal district (a setting with facility for molecular drug susceptibility testing (DST)) located in central India in 2014-15, we found high levels of pre-diagnosis attrition among patients with presumptive multi drug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB)-meaning TB patients who were eligible for DST, were not being tested.

Objectives: In this study, we explored the health care provider perspectives into barriers and suggested solutions for improving DST.

Methods: This was a descriptive qualitative study.
