Context: Screening programs to identify negative ulnar nerve adaptations in throwing athletes can help minimize injury risk and individualize treatment programs prior to the onset of symptoms. However, it is currently unclear how the ulnar nerve structurally adapts chronically in professional baseball pitchers. Objective: To compare ulnar nerve ultrasound structural characteristics between the throwing (dominant) and non-throwing control (non-dominant) elbows in professional pitchers, with a secondary purpose of comparing ultrasound structural characteristics between subluxating and non-subluxating ulnar nerves.

Background: Despite the importance of accurately detecting ulnar nerve subluxation in vulnerable athletes, few studies have compared the performance of physical examination and ultrasound in this population.

Purpose/hypothesis: The purpose of this study was to compare the diagnostic validity of physical examination versus ultrasound in detecting ulnar nerve subluxation at the cubital tunnel of the elbow in professional baseball pitchers. It was hypothesized that ultrasound would more sensitively detect ulnar nerve subluxation.

Background: Radiographic and physical examination findings of ulnar nerve instability have been recognized in overhead throwing athletes, despite the fact that some of these abnormalities may be asymptomatic and represent adaptive changes. While recommendations for screening and early detection have been made that can adversely impact an athletes' career, the presence of bilateral ulnar nerve subluxation and its relationship with medial elbow symptoms has not been characterized in professional overhead throwing athletes.

Purpose: To characterize the prevalence of bilateral ulnar nerve subluxation among professional baseball pitchers.

Hypothesis And Background: Controversy exists as to the ideal management of young active patients with subcritical glenoid bone loss and an off-track Hill-Sachs lesion, and the Latarjet and arthroscopic Bankart with remplissage are effective surgical options. The purpose of this study was to compare rates of recurrent instability and reoperation, as well as patient-reported outcome measures, between Latarjet and arthroscopic Bankart repair with remplissage surgery patients. The authors hypothesized that there would be no difference in rates of recurrent instability, reoperation, and postoperative outcomes between patients who underwent Latarjet surgery and patients who underwent Bankart repair with concomitant remplissage postoperatively.

This study proposes an analysis of the physics-based TCAD (Technology Computer-Aided Design) simulation procedure for GaN/AlGaN/GaN HEMT (High Electron Mobility Transistor) device structures grown on Si (111) substrate which is calibrated against measurement data. The presence of traps and activation energies in the device structure will impact the performance of a device, the source of traps and position of traps in the device remains as a complex exercise until today. The key parameters for the precise tuning of threshold voltage () in GaN transistors are the control of the positive fixed charges -5 × 10 cm, donor-like traps -3 × 10 cm at the nitride/GaN interfaces, the energy of the donor-like traps 1.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study aimed to evaluate how effective MRI and X-ray are in diagnosing osteochondral defects and loose bodies in patients undergoing surgery for patellar instability, focusing on 87 cases from 2015 to 2019.
  • - It found that both MRI and X-ray have low sensitivity but high specificity for identifying these issues, with MRI showing sensitivities of 52% for loose bodies and 43% for osteochondral lesions, while X-ray showed even lower sensitivities (23% and 8% respectively).
  • - The results indicate that, despite their ability to accurately confirm the presence of loose bodies and osteochondral defects when identified, MRI and X-ray are not reliable enough for detection, which is crucial for
