Objectives: The main objective of this work was to detect novel biomarkers in breast cancer by spreading the MR spectra over two dimensions in multiple spatial locations using an accelerated 5D EP-COSI technology.

In perinatally HIV-infected (PHIV) children, neurodevelopment occurs in the presence of HIV-infection, and even with combination antiretroviral therapy (cART) the brain can be a reservoir for latent HIV. The purpose of this study was to evaluate adipose tissue distributions and hepatic and pancreatic fat contents using a 6-point Dixon MRI technique in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), and to assess associations between fat distributions and biochemical markers of insulin resistance. Attempts have been made to reduce the total scan time in multi-dimensional J-resolved spectroscopic imaging (JRESI) using an echo-planar (EP) readout gradient, but acquisition duration remains a limitation for routine clinical use in the brain. We present here a significant acceleration achieved with a 4D EP-JRESI sequence that collects dual phase encoded lines within a single repetition time (TR) using two bipolar read-out trains. There is an evidence of neurocognitive dysfunction even in the absence of advanced liver disease in chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. Brain metabolism has been investigated non-invasively using one-dimensional (1D) in vivo Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS) over three decades. Even though highly concentrated cerebral metabolites (N-acetylaspartate, creatine, choline, glutamate/glutamine, myo-inositol) have been detected using MRS, other metabolites at low concentrations (~1-3 mM or less) including glutathione, aspartate and GABA are quite difficult to observe using 1D MRS.
