Introduction: Among patients affected by Covid-19, a large subset included those who were on preoperative general surgical waiting list for elective operations. There are very few studies on the various factors that impacted these patients during the pandemic in India. The current study aimed to analyse the factors which hampered the surgical management of such patients and to suggest implementable solutions which can mitigate those factors in future pandemics.

This case report describes the management of a child with Hunter syndrome who was referred to the Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry for pain in the upper front teeth. Intraoral examination revealed severe early childhood caries, prompting planning for full-mouth rehabilitation under general anaesthesia due to the child's uncooperative behaviour.

Here, we discuss the influence of colonization (a beneficial fungal root endophyte) on BBrMV infection, specific viral component genes responsible for symptom development, chlorophyll and carotenoid biosynthesis, and degradation in BBrMV-infected banana plants. colonization significantly and substantially reduced the severity of Banana bract mosaic disease (BBrMD) in addition to increased growth, development and yield of banana plants.

In the current study, different concentrations of silver nanoparticles (20 nm) and magnesium oxide nanoparticles (50 nm) were included in the PCR mixture to improve the sensitivity of PCR for the detection of tomato leaf curl virus. The inclusion of nanoparticles in single or combination in PCR mixture has resulted in improvement of PCR sensitivity.

The present study was designed with the objective of assessing the impact of biofertilisers on grain quality and iron homeostasis in rice under elevated CO. A completely randomised design with four treatments ([KAU, POP (control), POP+Azolla, POP+PGPR, and POP+AMF]), each replicated three times under ambient and elevated CO conditions, was followed.

Distraction is a nonpharmacological technique to manage anxiety in children during dental treatment.
Aim: This study compares the effect of audio and virtual reality (VR) distraction on the dental anxiety of healthy and mild intellectually disabled children.
Background & Objectives: This study was aimed at estimating the proportion among sputum smear-positive tuberculosis (TB) patients diagnosed at a tertiary care centre in India, who did not undergo universal drug-susceptibility testing (UDST), assessing the sociodemographic and morbidity-related factors associated with it, ascertaining the reasons for not getting tested and estimating the proportion with any drug resistance (DR).
Methods: TB Notification Register and TB Laboratory Register, maintained in Designated Microscopy Centre and Intermediate Research Laboratory, respectively were used to obtain the patient details and information regarding UDST and DR-TB status. Under UDST, the TB patients had undergone rapid molecular tests to check for any DR.

Aim: The present study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of pulp tissue collected from deciduous teeth for the determination of gender using polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
Materials And Methods: 140 extracted deciduous teeth were selected. The control group comprised 20 teeth that were subjected to DNA analysis immediately.

Background: Pathogenic variants in KITLG, a crucial protein involved in pigmentation and neural crest cell migration, cause non-syndromic hearing loss, Waardenburg syndrome type 2, familial progressive hyperpigmentation and familial progressive hyper- and hypopigmentation, all of which are inherited in an autosomal dominant manner.
Objectives: To describe the genotypic and clinical spectrum of biallelic KITLG-variants.
Methods: We used a genotype-first approach through the GeneMatcher data sharing platform to collect individuals with biallelic KITLG variants and reviewed the literature for overlapping reports.
Adamantinoma is a rare malignant tumour usually affecting the diaphysis of long bones. The tumour most commonly affects the tibia. Conventional management involves excision with a wide margin, reconstruction and sometimes amputation.

Diverse genetic resources adapted to Indian subcontinent were not represented much in spite harboring useful alleles that could improve agronomic traits, stress resilience and productivity. These rice accessions are valuable genetic resource in developing rice varieties suited to different rice ecosystem that experiences varying drought stress level, and at different crop stages.

Ortner's syndrome refers to the compression of the recurrent laryngeal nerve by cardiovascular disorders of various etiologies. We describe a rare case of Ortner's syndrome caused by thoracic aorta aneurysm and a brief review of literature on this unusual cause of Ortner's syndrome. Hoarseness of voice due to the compression of recurrent laryngeal nerve by thoracic aorta aneurysm could be a harbinger of aneurysmal rupture.

Adaptableness to environmental changes generally derives from a large set of genetic traits affecting physio-morphological, biochemical and agronomic parameters. Therefore, the identification of genotypes with higher yield and good quality parameters at high temperatures is becoming increasingly necessary for future breeding programs.

Study Design: Thirty patients were selected, evaluated according to the predetermined criteria and divided in equal numbers of 15 amongst 2 groups KP and KD.
Materials And Methods: Informed consent was taken, nil per oral (NPO) guidelines were followed and the study drug was administered.
Context: Dental tissue remains are the toughest, and chemically, the most stable tissue in the body. Its high resilience in the events of fire and bacterial decomposition makes them vital for DNA analysis by PCR method.
Aims: Determination of sex of children through molecular analysis of pulp tissue of exfoliated deciduous teeth stored in different media and analyzed after a different time period.

The study was done to evaluate the accuracy of previously established clinical methods of age estimation in Indian children and to derive new methods for use in an Indian subpopulation.
Materials And Methods: Foti's clinical method of age estimation based on the eruption status of permanent teeth was tested for accuracy in a sample comprising 1000 children within the age group of 6-14 years encompassing five different southern states of India.

Background: Age estimation methods in the permanent dentition are numerous in number and well established and evaluated. However, there exists a dearth of methods available for the estimation of age based on the eruption status of primary teeth, despite various studies displaying greater accuracy using such methods.
Aim: The purpose of this study was to develop the methods of age estimation based on the eruption status of primary teeth and based on previous methods developed for permanent teeth and to assess the accuracy of the methods in a clinical situation.
Context: Auto-rickshaw (three wheelers open cabin type of vehicle) drivers are exposed to traffic air pollution. Studies have demonstrated reduced pulmonary function among drivers. However, limited studies have determined the prevalence of chronic respiratory symptoms or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) among drivers.
