- Carbapenems have historically been the preferred treatment for multidrug-resistant (MDR) and extended spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing organisms, with a study analyzing metallo beta-lactamase (MBL) and AmpC beta-lactamase (ABL) occurrence in gram-negative bacteria from clinical samples in Kathmandu, Nepal.
