Aim: The purpose of the study is to evaluate how well the Endovac system and conventional needle irrigation work to remove smear layers (SR) from primary teeth root canals.

Materials And Methods: Fifty extracted human primary teeth were divided into two equal sections vertically, then positioned within an acrylic model that was secured with screws. Group A (Endovac), = 25, and group B (traditional needle), = 25.

Aim: This report evaluates the apical plug formation in two cases with necrotic immature maxillary central incisors in 11 and 12 years old female patients by the use of spinal tap needle to create apical plug-in single increment without any residual mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) attachment to the wall of the root canal.

Materials And Methods: The shape of the immature root canal resembles a truncated cone. To achieve a truncated cone with MTA on the apical 4 mm in order to plug the open apex, the volume of material that will be required can be calculated by taking spinal tap needle (BD Spinal, Spain) equal to the last file used, in a way that the MTA extruded is equal to the amount required to shape the apical plug in a single increment.

Aim: The aim of this study was to analyze the acidogenic potential of the various commercially available fruit juices and to evaluate the salivary and plaque pH changes before and after consumption of the fruit juices that were kept at various temperatures.

Materials And Methods: Baseline plaque and salivary pH were measured for 30 volunteers, and the test was conducted for 4 consecutive days on which juices with a known pH was consumed, which were kept at varying temperatures. The resulting changes in the plaque and salivary pH were measured after 1, 5, 15, and 30 minutes of the consumption of the fruit juices using a portable standard digital pH meter.

Aim: SealBio is a novel technique which stimulates the periradicular cells to deposit a biological barrier at the root apex by inducing healing and regeneration. This clinical trial was undertaken to compare the outcome of teeth treated with the SealBio and the obturation technique.

Materials And Methods: Thirty patients met the inclusion criteria and consented to participate in the study.

Unlabelled: The general dental practitioner and paediatric dentist are in a unique position to identify and distinguish between a seemingly innocuous condition that may be a normal physiological aberration or an early sign of severe destructive periodontal disease. Although severe destructive periodontal conditions are uncommon in children, it is essential that children receive a periodontal screening as part of their regular dental examination. Early diagnosis ensures a high likelihood of a successful therapeutic outcome, primarily by reduction of aetiologic factors, remedial therapy and development of an effective maintenance protocol.

Unlabelled: Contrasting forms of periodontal disease can affect children and adolescents with varying prevalence, severity and extent, leading to a diverse prognosis in these age groups. For an early diagnosis and treatment of periodontal conditions in young patients, it is essential for the dental practitioner to be able to identify and classify the disease correctly at the earliest opportunity, applying basic principles along with understanding of aetiology and risk factors. The first part of this article discusses the classification, plaque-induced and non-plaque-induced gingival diseases, localized and generalized forms of chronic, as well as aggressive, periodontitis.

This study conducted at the PDM Dental College and Research Institute, Haryana, India, had the purpose of developing a teaching method based upon a five-step method for teaching clinical skills to students proposed by the American College of Surgeons. This five-step teaching method was used to place fissure sealants as an initial procedure by dental students in clinics. The sealant retention was used as an objective evaluation of the skill learnt by the students.

Objective: To investigate (1) the relationships between the stages of mandibular second molar calcification and skeletal maturity; and (2) whether second molar calcification stages can be used as a reliable diagnostic tool to determine skeletal maturity.

Materials And Methods: Samples were derived from panoramic radiographs and lateral cephalograms of 300 subjects (137 males and 163 females) with ages ranging from 9 to 18 years, and estimates of dental maturity (Demirjian Index [DI]) and skeletal maturity (cervical vertebrae maturation indicators [CVMI]) were made.

Results: A highly significant association (C*  =  0.
