: Diabetes patients' quality of life can be severely impacted by diabetic muscle atrophy.: This study aimed to explore the impact of high-intensity exercise (HIE) alongside insulin treatment on muscle atrophy in a rat model of type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM).: Fifty rats were allocated into five groups; Group 1, control sedentary (CS), T1DM was elicited in the rest of the groups by giving them Streptozotocin (STZ) (60 mg/kg), where group 2 (DS) remained sedentary, while groups 3,4,5 were treated with insulin after induction of diabetes.

Type 2 Diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has the potential to impair cardiac function and cause heart failure. We aimed to study the cardioprotective influence of Galactin-3 (Gal-3) inhibitor; modified citrus pectin (MCP) in isoprenaline induced myocardial infarction (MI) in T2DM rats. Forty rats were allocated into 4 groups; groups I and II served as control.

Chronic neuroinflammation is central to the pathology of several neurodegenerative disorders. Hence, exploring the molecular mechanism by which IMI would trigger neuroinflammation is particularly important.

The management of PCOS is challenging and current interventions are not enough to deal with all consequences of this syndrome. We explored the beneficial effect of combined sodium glucose co transporter-2 inhibitor (SGLT-2i); (empagliflozin) and metformin on hormonal and metabolic parameters in an animal model of PCOS and insulin resistance (IR).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFOsteoarthritis (OA) is a common debilitating degenerative disease of the elderly. We aimed to study the therapeutic effects of combining curcumin and swimming in monosodium iodoacetate (MIA)-induced OA in a rat model. The rats were divided into 5 groups (n = 9).

However, its contribution to the development of adverse cardiovascular outcomes in those patients is not fully understood. Thus, the present work investigated the effect of salt-induced volume overload on cardiac functions and geometry in a rat model of chronic kidney disease.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFApelin and its receptor (APJ) are involved in the regulation of a variety of pathophysiological processes. We studied the effect of apelin treatment on obesity-induced type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and possible interaction between apelin/APJ system and renin-angiotensin system (RAS). Forty eight male albino rats were divided into two groups: control group and diabetic group.
