Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in children with chronic kidney disease. Asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) is thought to be related to chronic kidney disease patients' adverse cardiovascular effects. Our study is to assess ADMA concentrations in children on hemodialysis (HD) as a marker of cardiovascular risk and detect the relation to the left ventricular (LV) function by traditional and speckled tracking echo.

The objective here was to explore the potential environmental risk factors associated with the development of T1DM among children in Egypt. A case-controlled study of 204 T1DM children and an equal number of age and sex-matched controls was conducted in Assiut, Egypt.
