Layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanoparticles (NPs) have potential applications for the loading and controlled release of drugs. This study investigated the synthesis of Zn/Al-LDH using the co-precipitation and ion-exchange methods, coating with SiO NPs and precise control of the release of vitamin C (VC). The results showed that more VC could be loaded by ion exchange.

Calcium hydroxide cement (CHC), which is a direct pulp-capping material, has been widely used for several decades. In spite of the well-known advantages of CHCs, they have some disadvantages as well, such as high solubility, no inherent adhesive qualities, and low mechanical strength. Previous studies were undertaken to improve these deficiencies by implementing changes to modify the conventional CHCs.
