The quest for effective cancer treatment methodologies underpins numerous research endeavors. Despite the therapeutic efficacy of conventional chemotherapy against malignant tumors, tumor recurrence post-therapy remains a formidable challenge. Addressing this, we developed a dual drug delivery system, rooted in a modified metal-organic framework (MOF), specifically by substituting the metal nodes of Uio-66 with cerium to augment its anti-oxidative potential.

In this study, the Ni(OH)/CuO heterostructured photocatalysts have been prepared via microwave (MW) hydrothermal method. The results indicate that the Ni(OH)/CuO heterostructured composite exhibits a strong absorption in the UV and Vis regions. The construction of the heterojunction also improves the photogenerated carrier transport and inhibits the electron-hole separation due to the enhanced absorbance and the well alignment of the energy band at the Ni(OH)/CuO interface.
