Yellow-green emitting phosphors of vanadate CaMg(VO) (CMV) doped with different concentrations of Ta ions were synthesized by a solid-state reaction method. The formation of single-phase compounds with a garnet structure was verified by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Rietveld refinement calculations and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.
