In recent years, diastolic dysfunction is an evolving context. Presence of left ventricular diastolic dysfunction (LVDD) indicates a poor prognosis in patients with an ACS and chronic coronary artery diseases. This study evaluated the association of LVDD and angiographic severity of CAD in patients with non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI).

Aortic valve sclerosis (AVS) represents a degenerative process that progresses with advancing age. The study was intended to find out the association between aortic valve sclerosis and the severity of CAD in patient's age ≤65 years with acute coronary syndrome. This cross-sectional analytical study was carried out in the department of cardiology, National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), Dhaka, Bangladesh during a period of October 2017 to September 2018.

Digital technologies empower users to manage their health and reduce the burden on the public health system. The mass adoption of wearable medical devices (WMDs) promotes the ageing population's confidence besides facilitating users. Thus, the current study aims to empirically evaluate the formation of perceived product value (PPV) with the WMDs' computability, usefulness, cost, and accuracy, the intention to use WMDs influenced by health consciousness (HCS), health anxiety (HAY), product value, and perceived critical mass (PCM), and later the adoption of WMDs among Chinese adults.

Chemotherapeutic Activities of Dietary Phytoestrogens against Prostate Cancer: From Observational to Clinical Studies.

Prostate cancer remains one of the most frequent and deadliest malignancies in males, where the rate of disease progression is closely associated with the type of dietary intake, specifically a Western-style diet. Indeed intake of the Asian diet, which contains abundant phytoestrogens, is inversely correlated with a higher risk of prostate cancer, suggesting a chemoprotective effect of phytoestrogen against cancer progression. Although the role of phytoestrogens in cancer treatment has been well documented, their impact on prostate cancer is not well understood.

More Than Fish-Framing Aquatic Animals within Sustainable Food Systems.

Aquatic animals are diverse in terms of species, but also in terms of production systems, the people involved, and the benefits achieved. In this concept piece, we draw on literature to outline how the diversity of aquatic animals, their production, and their consumption all influence their impact within the food system. Built on evidence from an array of reductionist and non-reductionist literature, we suggest that food systems researchers and policymakers adapt current methods and theoretical frameworks to appropriately contextualise aquatic animals in broader food systems.

Geographical and socioeconomic inequalities in the double burden of malnutrition among women in Southeast Asia: A population-based study.

Background: Countries in the South and Southeast Asia region grapple with significant challenges due to the double burden of malnutrition (DBM) in women. An understanding of the country specific DBM geographical and socioeconomic distribution in South and Southeast Asian countries will enable targeting of DBM interventions towards high-risk populations in the region. This study aimed to analyse anthropometric indicators for women's nutrition at national and subnational levels in seven South and Southeast Asian countries and assess the association between nutritional status and socioeconomic factors.

Design and Evaluation of In-Plane Silicon Microneedles Fabricated with Post-CMOS Compatible Processes.

In this paper, a comprehensive study was carried out on in-plane silicon (Si) microneedles, a useful tool for transdermal drug delivery and sample collection. Microneedles with eleven designs were investigated by post-complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) compatible microfabrication processes and characterized via pricking tests by insertion in chicken breast flesh. Mechanical strength of all designs were also evaluated by theoretical calculation and finite element modeling (FEM) for bending and buckling analysis.

During the last few decades, cancer has remained one of the deadliest diseases that endanger human health, emphasizing urgent drug discovery. Cellular senescence has gained a great deal of attention in recent years because of its link to the development of cancer therapy. Senescent cells are incapable of proliferating due to irreversibly inhibition of the initiation of the cell cycle pathways.

Integrating Population Health Strategies into Primary Care: Impact on Outcomes and Hospital Use for Low-Income Adults.

Objective: Our objectives were two-fold: 1) To evaluate the benefits of population health strategies focused on social determinants of health and integrated into the primary care medical home (PCMH) and 2) to determine how these strategies impact diabetes and cardiovascular disease outcomes among a low-income, primarily minority community. We also investigated associations between these outcomes and emergency department (ED) and inpatient (IP) use and costs.

With the increasing use of mobile devices and new technologies, electronic payments, such as near field communication (NFC) mobile payments, are gaining traction and gradually replacing the currency-based cash payment methods. Despite multiple initiatives by various parties to encourage mobile payments, adoption rates in developing countries have remained low. The purpose of this research is to explore the prime determinants of NFC mobile-payment adoption intention and to develop a model of mobile payment adoption that includes perceived risk (PR) as one of the major elements by extending the UTAUT2 theory components.

Sustainable Economic Development Through Entrepreneurship: A Study on Attitude, Opportunity Recognition, and Entrepreneurial Intention Among University Students in Malaysia.

This study explored the effect of attitude towards entrepreneurship (ATE), need for achievement (NFA), risk-taking propensity (RTP), proactive personality (PRP), self-efficacy (SLE), opportunity recognition competency (ORC), entrepreneurship education, uncertainty avoidance (UNA), and entrepreneurial knowledge (ENK) on entrepreneurial intention (ENIN) among university students in Malaysia. This quantitative study had adopted the cross-sectional design approach and involved 391 university students in Malaysia via the online survey. The study outcomes revealed that the NFA, PRP, and SLE significantly affect students' attitudes towards entrepreneurship.

Prevalence of metabolic syndrome and its related factors among Vietnamese people: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background And Aims: Metabolic risk factors are the leading causes of mortality and morbidity in recent decades, yet the burden of metabolic syndrome (MetS) has not been carefully assessed in Vietnam. This review thus aims to examine the prevalence of MetS and its related factors in Vietnam.

Methods: A systematic review was conducted using literature retrieved from PubMed/Medline, Web of Science, Embase, Scopus, and Google Scholar up until July 2021.
