A series of unique four mono-azo substituted anthraquinone analogue were synthesized by using the anthraquinone components in the diazo-coupling technique. The FT-IR, H NMR, and HRMS, data were used to confirm the structure of the molecules, and spectroscopic techniques like UV-Vis, and photoluminescence spectroscopy were employed to estimate the photophysical properties of the molecules. The molecular optimized geometry and frontier molecular orbitals were estimated using density functional theory.

Vascular variant of leiomyomas termed angioleiomyomas rarely present in the oral cavity. They present themselves as well-circumscribed, slow-growing, superficial lesions covered by normal mucosa and sometimes bluish or purple in color. Clinicians often tend to overlook this entity due to the rarity and asymptomatic nature of the lesion.

Context: Teeth are hardest part of the body and are least affected by the taphonomic process. They are considered as one of the reliable methods of identification of a person in forensic sciences.
Aim: The aim of the following study is to establish morphometeric measurements by AutoCad 2009 (Autodesk, Inc) of permanent maxillary central incisors in different age groups of Udaipur population.
Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic heterogenous disease in which there is dysregulation of carbohydrates, protein and lipid metabolism; leading to elevated blood glucose levels. The present study was conducted to evaluate the correlation between blood glucose and salivary glucose levels in known diabetic patients and control group and also to evaluate salivary glucose level as a diagnostic tool in diabetic patients.
Materials And Methods: A total number of 250 patients were studied, out of which 212 formed the study group and 38 formed the control group.
Background: Candida and epithelial dysplasia have long been associated with oro-mucosal lesions.
Aim And Objective: The present study was designed to evaluate the correlation between presence of Candida organisms and epithelial dysplasia in various oral mucosal lesions associated with areca nut and tobacco use.
Materials And Methods: A total of 50 individuals were selected, between age range of 19-70 y.
Objective: To compare caries, oral hygiene and periodontal status of chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients in different stages and healthy controls.
Design: Seventy-four patients diagnosed with CKD and 150 healthy age and sex matched controls were recruited from General Hospital of Udaipur, India. Each subject was examined for caries by decayed, missing and filled teeth (DMFT) index, oral hygiene by simplified oral hygiene index (OHI-S) while gingival and periodontal status were assessed by Loe and Silness gingival and Community Periodontal Index, respectively.

Presence of cutaneous ulcers, linear erythematous plaques, skin coloured atrophic plaques and recurrent self-limiting oral ulcers in a single patient has not been documented in literature so far. Diagnosis was established by identifying small intracellular yeast-like cells of Histoplasma in tissue smear and skin biopsy.

Oral plasmablastic lymphoma (PBL) is a rare malignancy, associated with HIV or other immunocompromised conditions. The lesion constituted a new subtype of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and proposed a distinct entity based on its basic morphology, its clinical behaviour involving predominantly extramedullary sites (particularly oral cavity), and its limited antigenic phenotype data suggesting plasmacytic differentiation. Authors here report a case of apparently healthy individual aged 35 years, presenting one-month history of swelling associated with loosened teeth around upper anteriors.

Uremic stomatitis is a rare mucosal disorder associated with renal disorders. Here, we report a case of a 42-year-old male patient suffering from diabetes, angina pectoris, with white curdly pseudomembrane over the dorsal surface of the tongue, which was diffuse. The etiology, clinical features, and treatment are discussed.

The disease is caused by mutation in the cytochrome p450, family 4, subfamily v, polypeptide 2 (CYP4V2) gene. Choroidal neovascularization (CNV) is a rare event in BCD.

Although there is an extensive list of signs attributed to DWM, final diagnosis is solely dependent on imaging techniques as there are no signs that are characteristic of DWM. This article reports a case with DWM who was diagnosed by magnetic resonance imaging.

This study aimed to investigate the immunohistochemical expression of CD34, for characterization and quantification of mucosal vasculature and its possible role in malignant transformation of atrophic epithelium in oral submucous fibrosis. After compilation of available data, the present study challenges the conventionally believed concept that epithelial atrophy in OSF is due to lack of perfusion, caused by decreased vascularity of subjacent connective tissue stroma.

Objective: To evaluate sensitivity of orthopentograph (OPG) in assessing the number and morphology of roots of the mandibular third molar.
Materials And Methods: The study population consisted of 100 ILTMs (impacted lower third molars) ranging from 18 to 42 years with equal sex distribution. All the teeth were subsequently extracted, collected and compared with OPG features for position, number, morphology, and relation to mandibular canal.
Objective: This study was carried out to determine the reliability of sex determination from teeth pulp tissue.
Patients And Methods: This study was carried on 60 maxillary and mandibular premolars and permanent molars (30 male teeth and 30 female teeth) which were indicated for extraction. The teeth were categorized into three groups of 20 each (10 from males and 10 from females).
Myiasis is the infestation of live human and vertebrate animal with dipterous larvae which feed on the host's dead or living tissue. A case of oral myiasis in the maxillary anterior region in a 42-year-old female with neurologic deficit caused by the larvae (maggots) of Musca Nebulo (Family Diptera) is reported. The treatment consisted of manual removal of the larvae by topical application of turpentine oil, oral therapy with ivermectin and surgical debridement of the oral wound.
