The levels of NO metabolites in the plasma and mRNA of the NOS3, ATG9B, and NOS2 genes in peripheral blood leukocytes of healthy people and patients with early forms of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (steatosis and weak activity non-alcoholic steatohepatitis) were studied. In patients with steatohepatitis, the concentration of NO metabolites in the blood and the level of mRNA of the NOS2 gene were higher than in patients with steatosis and healthy people. These differences can be of diagnostic value for distinguishing between steatosis and weak activity steatohepatitis in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

Objective: To explore the distribution of Rotterdam-based PCOS phenotypes and their associations with anthropometric parameters predictive of cardiometabolic risks in Ukrainian referral PCOS women.

Study Design: It was a cross-sectional study conducted by the Ukrainian Society of Gynecological Endocrinology between September 2021 and January 2022 involving 42 clinics in 10 regional centres representing the major geographical parts of Ukraine. Two hundred obstetrician-gynecologists whose practice facilities corresponded to study criteria were committed to entering records of their PCOS patients aged 20-45 years into the uniform data collection forms.

Intensive studies of hyperbolic metamaterials (HMMs) are induced by unique optical properties of this type of artificial media associated with their hyperbolic dispersion. Special attention is attracted to the nonlinear optical response of HMMs, which reveals anomalous behavior in definite spectral regions. Third-order nonlinear optical self-action effects that are perspective for applications were analyzed numerically, whereas such experiments have not been performed up to now.

The possibility of finding persistent SARS-CoV-2 viral particles in human peripheral blood leukocytes after a novel coronavirus infection was shown. The results of droplet digital PCR showed that 19 of 24 examined subjects had from 4 to 555 copies of the Nsp4 SARS-CoV-2 gene in 5-6 months after infection. The presence of this transcript in peripheral blood leukocytes was associated with reduced expression of FOXP3 gene and increased level of RORγ gene mRNA.

This article describes the clinical manifestation of natural infection in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) during an outbreak on a fish farm. (i) Using an integrated approach, we characterized the pathogenesis of vibriosis from the morphological, hematological, and biochemical points of view. The molecular mechanisms associated with the host immune response were investigated using mass spectrometric analysis of trout plasma proteins.

Hyperbolic metamaterials (HMM) based on multilayered metal/dielectric films or ordered arrays of metal nanorods in a dielectric matrix are extremely attractive optical materials for manipulating over the parameters of the light flow. One of the most promising tools for tuning the optical properties of metamaterialsis the application of an external magnetic field. However, for the case of HMM based on the ordered arrays of magneto-plasmonic nanostructures, this effect has not been clearly demonstrated until now.

Objective: The aim: This study aims to develop and implement a complex of pregravid preparation based on endogenous melatonin level, development of oxidative stress and violation of apoptosis regulation in women with tubal-peritoneal infertility.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: We have examined 100 women of reproductive age, including 65 women with tubal-peritoneal infertility treated by ART. All studied women were defined levels of endogenous melatonin, oxidative status and level of apoptosis in the endometrium and in follicular fluid (infertile women only).

The interest in hyperbolic metamaterials is fueled by fascinating optical properties exhibited by this class of artificial media. Their optical features originate from hyperbolic dispersion emerging due to the shape anisotropy of the metal-dielectric composite. In this work, we study experimentally and numerically the second-harmonic generation (SHG) in ordered arrays of Au nanorods embedded in porous aluminum oxide.

The risk of essential arterial hypertension was assessed in carriers of the NOS2 gene variants (rs1800482 (-954G>C), rs3730017 (C>T)). In subjects carrying C allele (rs1800482), the risk for essential arterial hypertension developing was higher by 1.7 times (OR=1.

We studied association of the TNF gene -238G>A polymorphism (rs361525) with the risk of rheumatoid arthritis development in the Russian population living in the Republic of Karelia. The influence of rs361525 on the development of rheumatoid arthritis was revealed: genetic predisposition to this disease is associated with the presence of GG genotype. The effect of the genotype on the polymorphic locus of -238G>A on TNF mRNA content was revealed.

Objective: The purpose of our study was to evaluate both clinical and laboratory efficacy of sulodexide given at a daily dose of 500 lipasemic units (LSU) in patients presenting with class C3-C4 chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) according to the CEAP classification.

Patients And Methods: The study included a total of 25 patients diagnosed with C3-C4 CVI and prescribed to receive sulodexide at a daily dose of 500 LSU for 90 days. Efficacy was comprehensively controlled by the following tools: the disease-specific Chronic Venous Insufficiency Quality of Life Questionnaire (CIVIQ), visual-analogue methods of assessment separate symptoms; the Venous Clinical Severity Score (VCSS), as well as ultrasonographic determination of the thickness of subcutaneous fat and crural fascia.

Aim: To analyze an association of TNF -308G>A polymorphism with a risk for pulmonary sarcoidosis (PS) in the Russian population of the Republic of Kareli.

Subjects And Methods: 84 patients with persistent PS and 96 donors without clinical manifestations of this disease (a control group) were examined. Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) analysis was used to identify alleles and genotypes by the marker of TNF -308G>A polymorphism.

The level of TNFα and IL6 in the blood plasma of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) who received antiinflammatory therapy with methotrexate (MT) was significantly lower than in the patients without MT treatment. The level of caspase 6 and 9 gene transcripts in peripheral blood lymphocytes in patients with rheumatoid arthritic diagnosed for the first time and in patients with MT treatment were not significantly different. At the same time, the level of caspase 3 mRNA expression was significantly higher in the cells of the RA patients with MT therapy compared to the patients without MT therapy.

We examined 127 patients with atherosclerotic stenosis of carotid arteries who underwent carotid endarterectomy (CEAE). In the most of patients (85%), CEAE slowed the progression of chronic cerebral ischemia leading to the stabilization or improvement of neurologic and/or neuropsychological status. The analysis of the data allowed to suggest a mathematical model for predicting the outcome of the surgery.

The effect of biologically active substances (BAS) "Trepel" and "Suvar" on liver regeneration 1-30 days after its mechanical injury was studied using histological and morphometric methods in 110 rat pups aged 18 days. The control group comprised 90 animals that received no treatment following liver injury. It was shown that both BAS studied inhibited the inflammatory reaction around the injury focus, suppressed collagenogenesis and activated hepatocyte proliferation.
