Pulsed magnetic field generation system for laser-plasma research.

An up to 15 T pulsed magnetic field generator in a volume of a few cubic centimeters has been developed for experiments with magnetized laser plasma. The magnetic field is created by a pair of coils placed in a sealed reservoir with liquid nitrogen, installed in a vacuum chamber with a laser target. The bearing body provides the mechanical strength of the system both in the case of co-directional and oppositely connected coils.

Odderon Exchange from Elastic Scattering Differences between pp and pp[over ¯] Data at 1.96 TeV and from pp Forward Scattering Measurements.

We describe an analysis comparing the pp[over ¯] elastic cross section as measured by the D0 Collaboration at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV to that in pp collisions as measured by the TOTEM Collaboration at 2.76, 7, 8, and 13 TeV using a model-independent approach.

Stereochemistries and Biological Properties of Oligomycin A Diels-Alder Adducts.

Oligomycin A is a potent antibiotic and antitumor agent. However, its applications are restricted by its high toxicity and low bioavailability. In this study, we obtained Oligomycin A Diels-Alder adducts with benzoquinone and -benzylmaleimide and determined their absolute configurations by combining H and ROESY NMR data with molecular mechanics conformational analysis and quantum chemical reaction modeling.

Measurement of the Effective Weak Mixing Angle in pp[over ¯]→Z/γ^{*}→ℓ^{+}ℓ^{-} Events.

We present a measurement of the effective weak mixing angle parameter sin^{2}θ_{eff}^{ℓ} in pp[over ¯]→Z/γ^{*}→μ^{+}μ^{-} events at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV, collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider and corresponding to 8.6  fb^{-1} of integrated luminosity.

Combined Forward-Backward Asymmetry Measurements in Top-Antitop Quark Production at the Tevatron.

The CDF and D0 experiments at the Fermilab Tevatron have measured the asymmetry between yields of forward- and backward-produced top and antitop quarks based on their rapidity difference and the asymmetry between their decay leptons. These measurements use the full data sets collected in proton-antiproton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=1.96  TeV.

Topological cell clustering in the ATLAS calorimeters and its performance in LHC Run 1.

The reconstruction of the signal from hadrons and jets emerging from the proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and entering the ATLAS calorimeters is based on a three-dimensional topological clustering of individual calorimeter cell signals. The cluster formation follows cell signal-significance patterns generated by electromagnetic and hadronic showers. In this, the clustering algorithm implicitly performs a topological noise suppression by removing cells with insignificant signals which are not in close proximity to cells with significant signals.

Corrosion Resistance of Nanopowders of Borides and Carbides of IV-VIB Group Metals in the Nickeling Electrolytes.

The corrosion resistance of nanopowders of borides and carbides of metals of IV-VIB groups, as well as of silicon carbide, was studied in the standard nickeling electrolytes. As objects of study, nanopowders with the content of the main phase 91.8-97.

Electrochemical Behavior and Electrodeposition of Nanostructured Rhodium from Low-Temperature Carbamide and Acetamide Containing Melts.

The electrochemical behavior of rhodium at low-temperature carbamide-chloride and acetamide-chloride melts was investigated. It was found that, during rhodium anodic dissolution in carbamide and acetamide containing chloride melts, mixed complexes [Rh(NH)Cl] of quasi-octahedral symmetry D are produced. The composition and structure of nascent complex ions have been studied.

[The diagnostic detection of sIgE to allergens of trees' pollen by rest-system «Alkor-Bio» and Immunocap technique.].

The article presents the results of preliminary analysis of 320 pair results of testing of children with bronchial asthma and/or allergic rhinitis conditioned by tree pollen. The imported and national test-systems ImmunoCAP and Alkor-Bio were applied. The detailed analysis of study results of the mentioned tests demonstrated that detection of levels of allergen-specific IgE in patients using test-systems Alkor-Bio and ImmunoCAP shows high degree of data matching related to a number of tree allergens.

[The mode of evaluation of sensibilization of children to grain herbs under respiratory allergy.].

Identification of boosted, hadronically decaying bosons and comparisons with ATLAS data taken at [Formula: see text] TeV.

This paper reports a detailed study of techniques for identifying boosted, hadronically decaying bosons using 20.3 fb[Formula: see text] of proton-proton collision data collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC at a centre-of-mass energy [Formula: see text]. A range of techniques for optimising the signal jet mass resolution are combined with various jet substructure variables.

Evidence for a B_{s}^{0}π^{±} State.

We report evidence for a narrow structure, X(5568), in the decay sequence X(5568)→B_{s}^{0}π^{±}, B_{s}^{0}→J/ψϕ, J/ψ→μ^{+}μ^{-}, ϕ→K^{+}K^{-}. This is evidence for the first instance of a hadronic state with valence quarks of four different flavors. The mass and natural width of this state are measured to be m=5567.

Observation of Long-Range Elliptic Azimuthal Anisotropies in sqrt[s]=13 and 2.76 TeV pp Collisions with the ATLAS Detector.

ATLAS has measured two-particle correlations as a function of the relative azimuthal angle, Δϕ, and pseudorapidity, Δη, in sqrt[s]=13 and 2.76 TeV pp collisions at the LHC using charged particles measured in the pseudorapidity interval |η|<2.5.

Measurement of the charge asymmetry in top-quark pair production in the lepton-plus-jets final state in collision data at [Formula: see text] with the ATLAS detector.

This paper reports inclusive and differential measurements of the [Formula: see text] charge asymmetry [Formula: see text] in [Formula: see text] of [Formula: see text][Formula: see text] collisions recorded by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. Three differential measurements are performed as a function of the invariant mass, transverse momentum and longitudinal boost of the [Formula: see text] system. The [Formula: see text] pairs are selected in the single-lepton channels ( or [Formula: see text]) with at least four jets, and a likelihood fit is used to reconstruct the [Formula: see text] event kinematics.

Search for direct top squark pair production in final states with two tau leptons in collisions at [Formula: see text] TeV with the ATLAS detector.

A search for direct pair production of the supersymmetric partner of the top quark, decaying via a scalar tau to a nearly massless gravitino, has been performed using 20 fb[Formula: see text] of proton-proton collision data at [Formula: see text]. The data were collected by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC in 2012. Top squark candidates are searched for in events with either two hadronically decaying tau leptons, one hadronically decaying tau and one light lepton, or two light leptons.

Measurement of the ZZ Production Cross Section in pp Collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV with the ATLAS Detector.

The ZZ production cross section in proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV center-of-mass energy is measured using 3.2  fb^{-1} of data recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The considered Z boson candidates decay to an electron or muon pair of mass 66-116 GeV.

Evidence for Simultaneous Production of J/ψ and ϒ Mesons.

We report evidence for the simultaneous production of J/ψ and ϒ mesons in 8.1  fb^{-1} of data collected at sqrt[s]=1.96  TeV by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab pp[over ¯] Tevatron Collider.

Elliptically polarized modes for the unidirectional excitation of surface plasmon polaritons.

We propose a new method for the directional excitation of surface plasmon polaritons by a metal nanoparticle antenna, based on the elliptical polarization of the normal modes of the antenna when it is in close proximity to a metallic substrate. The proposed theoretical model allows for the full characterization of the modes, giving the dipole configuration, frequency and lifetime. As a proof of principle, we have performed calculations for a dimer antenna and we report that surface plasmon polaritons can be excited in a given direction with an intensity of more than two orders of magnitude larger than in the opposite direction.

Measurements of the Higgs boson production and decay rates and coupling strengths using collision data at [Formula: see text] and 8 TeV in the ATLAS experiment.

Combined analyses of the Higgs boson production and decay rates as well as its coupling strengths to vector bosons and fermions are presented. The combinations include the results of the analyses of the [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] decay modes, and the constraints on the associated production with a pair of top quarks and on the off-shell coupling strengths of the Higgs boson. The results are based on the LHC proton-proton collision datasets, with integrated luminosities of up to 4.

Searches for scalar leptoquarks in collisions at [Formula: see text] = 8 TeV with the ATLAS detector.

Searches for pair-produced scalar leptoquarks are performed using 20 fb[Formula: see text] of proton-proton collision data provided by the LHC and recorded by the ATLAS detector at [Formula: see text] TeV.
