In many settings, it is reasonable to think of treatment as consisting of a number of components, either because this is the case in practice or because it is conceptually possible to decompose treatment into separate components due to the way in which it exerts effects on the outcome of interest. For competing events, the treatment decomposition idea has recently been suggested to separate effects of treatments on the outcome of interest from effects mediated through competing events using so-called separable effects. Like the idea of separating effects of exposure, it has been pointed out that ideas from mediation analysis generally may help to clarify the interpretation of existing estimands used in competing events settings.

IA companies have had access to several measures to prevent and reduce SA. Our aim in this paper was to estimate the average effect of having access to IA at the time of entering a first SA on later return-to-work (RTW) and on time spent in other work-related states.

The COPD assessment test (CAT-score), spirometry, diffusion capacity of the lungs (DL), and chest-CT were performed at 23 Norwegian hospitals included in the NOR-SOLIDARITY trial, an open-labelled, randomised clinical trial, investigating the efficacy of remdesivir and hydroxychloroquine (HCQ). Thirty-eight percent had a CAT-score ≥ 10.

It is common to assume that the models are Markov, but the assumption can often be unrealistic. The Markov assumption is seldomly checked and violations can lead to biased estimation of many parameters of interest.

Materials And Methods: In total, 158 patients were randomly assigned either to the immediate loading group (n = 81) or to the delayed loading group (n = 77). All implants were loaded with an overdenture retained by a ball attachment.
Purpose: The aim of this multicenter single mandibular implant study was to compare the clinical outcome of an immediately loaded implant placed in the midline of an edentulous mandible with the clinical outcome when closed healing and delayed loading is chosen. Here, the patient recruitment period and the main reasons for exclusion were analyzed.
Materials And Methods: Patient recruitment was performed at nine German universities.
