<b>Background and Objective:</b> Cervical cancer, along with lung and breast cancer, is one of Indonesia's most aggressive gynaecological diseases. <i>Rhodomyrtus tomentosa</i> has antioxidant and antiproliferative properties that could be developed into herbal medicines for molecular therapy. The IL-18 and PDGF-β are tumour-promoting agent proteins that may be therapeutic targets for a variety of cancers that were investigated in this study.

Silica microparticles were synthesized from sugarcane bagasse via a green synthetic technique. The prepared silica microparticles were used to remove lead and nickel ions from their separate solutions. Microscopic analysis shows that the synthesized silica particles are spherical with good monodispersed properties.

Background: Tetracycline antibiotics inhibit matrix metalloproteinases and pro-inflammatory cytokines implicated in the pathogenesis of tendinopathy, while microsphere formulations allow sustained release of drug contents. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the ability of a local minocycline microsphere injection to restore normal tendon properties in a rat model of collagenase-induced patellar tendinopathy.

Methods: A total of 22 rats were randomly assigned to the control (n = 11) or minocycline (n = 11) group and received bilateral patellar tendon injections of collagenase.

Intra-abdominal desmoplastic small round cell tumor is an extremely rare and aggressive neoplasm that predominantly occurs in young adult men; it has an uncertain histogenesis, and predominant or exclusive intra-abdominal localisation without visceral origin involvement. This tumor is characterized by its distinct morphology and its multiphenotypic differentiation. We report a case of an intra-abdominal desmoplastic round cell tumor in a 24 years old woman.
