Background/hypothesis: Migraine affects >1 billion people but its pathophysiology remains poorly understood. Alterations in the trigeminovascular system play an important role. We have compared corneal nerve morphology in patients with migraine to healthy controls.

We have assessed the relationship between CAN and extensive measures of glucose variability (GV) in patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
Methods: Participants with diabetes underwent continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) to obtain measures of GV and the extent of hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia and cardiovascular autonomic reflex testing.
Objective: Genome-wide association studies have identified as a susceptibility locus for cerebral small vessel diseases (CSVDs), including non-lobar intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and lacunar stroke. In the present study we performed targeted high-depth sequencing of in ICH cases and controls to further characterize this locus and prioritize potential causal mechanisms, which remain unknown.
Methods: 95,000 base pairs spanning , including and / were sequenced in 1,055 spontaneous ICH cases (534 lobar and 521 non-lobar) and 1,078 controls.
Background: Brucellosis in dogs caused by Brucella suis is an emerging zoonotic disease.
Objectives: To document clinical characteristics, serology, microbiology, and clinical response to treatment in B. suis-seropositive dogs.
Introduction: Patient perspectives in quality-of-life improvement are critical to measuring treatment outcomes. We aimed to identify patient priorities for overactive bladder (OAB) research.
Methods: Participants were recruited utilizing the Amazon Mechanical Turk database, an online marketplace where individuals receive payment for completing tasks.
Background: Angiostrongylus cantonensis (rat lungworm) is recognised as the leading cause of human eosinophilic meningitis, a serious condition observed when nematode larvae migrate through the CNS. Canine Neural Angiostrongyliasis (CNA) is the analogous disease in dogs. Both humans and dogs are accidental hosts, and a rapid diagnosis is warranted.

In the present study, we have investigated the linear and two-dimensional infrared spectral features of aqueous solutions of TBA for varying concentration of the alcohol along the percolation transition. The percolation transition is characterized through calculations of intermolecular radial distribution functions and average size of the largest cluster of TBA molecules.

Purpose: To synthesize the outcome measures used by randomized controlled trials (RCTs) for childhood glaucoma.
Methods: MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Scopus were searched from inception to February 17, 2023. Randomized controlled trials and observational studies related to childhood glaucoma were included.
India will need to produce 30% more wheat by 2050, and these gains must principally come from intensification in eastern India where low productivity is common. Through a dense network of on-farm surveys for the rice-wheat system in this region, we show that contemporary wheat sowing dates have a central influence on achieved and attainable yields, superseding all other crop management, soil and varietal factors. We estimate that untapped wheat production potential will increase by 69% with achievable adjustments to wheat sowing dates without incurring undesirable trade-offs with rice productivity, irrigation requirements or profitability.

Small nerve fiber damage occurs in patients with PD and may predict motor progression, but it is not known whether it differs between patients with different motor subtypes.
Objective: The aim of this study was to explore whether there was an association between the extent of corneal nerve loss and different motor subtypes.
This study concentrated on the influence of rice husk biochar on the structural, thermal, flammable, and mechanical properties of recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE). The percentage of rice husk biochar with recycled HDPE was varied between 10% and 40%, and the optimum percentages were found for the various properties. Mechanical characteristics were evaluated in terms of the tensile, flexural, and impact properties.

Autonomic dysreflexia (AD), an uncontrolled rise in blood pressure in response to peripheral stimuli including common bowel routine, digital anorectal stimulation (DARS), reduces the quality of life, and increases morbidity and mortality. Recently, spinal cord stimulation (SCS) has emerged as a potential intervention to mitigate unstable blood pressure following SCI.

Our objective was to discern patient factors associated with adverse outcomes following renal transplantation to identify patients who would benefit from close urological follow-up.
Methods: Retrospective chart review was conducted for patients undergoing renal transplantation between August 1, 2016 and July 30, 2019 at a tertiary care academic center.
Purpose: The purpose of this guideline is to provide a clinical structure with which to approach the diagnosis, counseling, and treatment of female patients with stress urinary incontinence (SUI).
Materials/methods: The primary source of evidence for the 2017 version of the SUI guideline was the systematic literature review conducted by the ECRI Institute. The initial search spanned literature from January 2005 to December 2015, with an additional updated abstract search through September 2016.
Investigating the microbial communities associated with invasive plant species can provide insights into how these species establish and thrive in new environments. Here, we explored the fungal species associated with the roots of the invasive species Anthemis cotula L. at 12 sites with varying elevations in the Kashmir Himalaya.

We aimed to investigate demographic inequities and its impact on survival outcomes among AAH LT candidates.
Methods: A retrospective analysis using the United Network of Organ Sharing database was conducted between 2000 and 2021.
Missing aspects of the heritability of chronic neuropathic pain, as a complex adult-onset trait, may be hidden within rare variants with low effect on disease risk, unlikely to be resolved by a single-variant approach. To identify new risk genes, we performed a next-generation sequencing of 107 pain genes and collapsed the rare variants through gene-wise aggregation analysis. The optimal unified sequence kernel association test was applied to 169 patients with painful neuropathy, 223 patients with nociplastic pain (82 diagnosed with chronic widespread pain and 141 with fibromyalgia), and 216 healthy controls.

Distributions and the diversity of species, and the phenotypes of individuals in those species are changing. New England with its rapidly changing human demographics is an ideal place to investigate these temporal changes in the habitat.
