α-Glucosidase inhibitors are important in the treatment of type 2 diabetes by regulating blood glucose levels and reducing carbohydrate absorption. The present study focuses on identifying new inhibitors bearing imidazo[1,2-c]quinazoline backbone through multi-step synthesis. The inhibitory potencies of the novel derivatives were tested against Saccharomyces cerevisiae α-glucosidase, revealing IC values ranging from 50.

Bacterial resistance to fluoroquinolone has been increasing at an alarming rate worldwide. In an attempt to find more potent anti-bacterial agents, an efficient, straightforward protocol was performed to obtain a large substrate scope of novel ciprofloxacin and sarafloxacin analogues conjugated with 4-(arylcarbamoyl)benzyl 7a-ab. All prepared compounds were evaluated for their anti-bacterial activities against three gram-positive strains (Methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Staphylococcus aureus, and Enterococcus faecalis) as well as three gram-negative strains (Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumonia, and Escherichia coli) through three standard methods including broth microdilution, agar-disc diffusion, and agar-well diffusion assays.

The present article describes the design, synthesis, in vitro urease inhibition, and in silico molecular docking studies of a novel series of nitrothiazolacetamide conjugated to different thioquinazolinones. Fourteen nitrothiazolacetamide bearing thioquinazolinones derivatives (8a-n) were synthesized through the reaction of isatoic anhydride with different amine, followed by reaction with carbon disulfide and KOH in ethanol. The intermediates were then converted into final products by treating them with 2-chloro-N-(5-nitrothiazol-2-yl)acetamide in DMF.

Three rapid spectrophotometric methods were developed for the determination of sunitinib based on the formation of ion-pair complex in acidic medium with bromocresol purple, bromothymol blue, and bromophenol blue. The formed ion-pair complexes, extractable with chloroform, were measured at 422 nm for bromocresol purple, 425 nm for bromothymol blue and 427 nm for bromophenol blue. All these methods were optimized for the pH of buffer and the volume of the reagent.

A new series of coumarin-3-carboxamide-N-morpholine hybrids 5a-5l was designed and synthesized as cholinesterases inhibitors. The synthetic approach for title compounds was started from the reaction between 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde derivatives and Meldrum's acid to afford corresponding coumarin-3-carboxylic acids. Then, amidation of the latter compounds with 2-morpholinoethylamine or N-(3-aminopropyl)morpholine led to the formation of the compounds 5a-5l.

In this work, a wide range of novel quinazolin-4(3H)-one linked to 1,2,3-triazoles was designed, synthesized, and evaluated against a panel of three human breast (MDA-MB-231, MCF-7, T-47D), lung (A549), and prostate (PC3) cancer cell lines. Our results revealed that the anticancer activity of the synthesized compounds was selectively affected by the presence of methoxy group on the linker between quinazolinone and 1,2,3-triazole moieties. According to the calculated IC values, compounds 6q, 6w, and 6x showed good cytotoxicity against breast cancer cell lines even more effective than the reference drug, etoposide.

Background: Mucopolysaccharidosis type IVA, also known as Morquio A or MPS IV A, is an autosomal recessive disease caused by the deficiency of the lysosomal enzyme N-acetylgalactosamine-6-sulfate sulfatase (GALNS). The loss of GALNS activity leads to the impaired breakdown of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) keratan sulfate and chondroitin-6-sulfate. The accumulation of GAGs results in multiple organ damage.
