Malignant pleural effusion from prostate adenocarcinoma.

Prostate adenocarcinoma is the most common newly diagnosed cancer in males. Pulmonary and pleural metastasis are not uncommon on autopsy, but malignant effusions are not common clinical findings. There are no current recommendations to guide prostate specific antigen level assessment in pleural fluid.

Trends concerning a common medical school interview question.

Objective: To assess how truthful medical students were during their interview process at one medical institution when asked what field of medicine they wish to pursue.

Methods: Anonymous one-page surveys were collected from matriculated freshman medical students who wished to participate in this study.

Results: A total of 53 freshman medical students completed and returned the anonymous survey.
