  • Tranexamic acid is commonly used in plastic surgery, but its effectiveness has not been clearly established.
  • A meta-analysis included 11 studies with 960 patients, finding that both systematic and topical administration of tranexamic acid significantly reduced blood loss during aesthetic procedures.
  • The study concludes that while tranexamic acid is effective in decreasing blood loss, further high-quality randomized controlled trials are necessary to better understand its benefits and risks in aesthetic surgery.

Alopecia constitutes one of the most common dermatological disorders, and its steadily increasing prevalence is a cause for concern.
