Background: Nursing home (NH) residents are frequently treated with antibiotics for urinary tract infections (UTIs), often due to overdiagnosis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the proportion of potentially unnecessary antibiotic use for suspected UTIs in NHs across eight European countries.
Research Design And Methods: Over a three-month period (February to April 2024), NH professionals recorded information on all antibiotic treatments for UTIs using a specific registration chart.

Objectives: To evaluate general practitioners' (GPs') ability to perform focused lung ultrasound (FLUS) following a training program and assess FLUS feasibility in general practice. Also, to describe FLUS findings and evaluate GPs' ability to interpret these in adults with acute lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI) when pneumonia is suspected and assess GPs' perception of FLUS impact.
Methods: Nine GPs, using point-of-care ultrasound, completed a FLUS training program.
The Western Denmark Heart Registry (WDHR) is a semi-national, multicenter-based clinical registry with unique potential for cardiovascular research. The registry has provided detailed prospectively registered information on patient and procedure characteristics since 1999. WDHR data can be linked to additional data in other healthcare registries in Denmark.

This study investigates if non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (non-HDL-C) is associated with residual ASCVD risk in statin-treated ischaemic heart disease (IHD) patients with and without diabetes.
Methods And Results: Using the Western Denmark Heart Registry, we identified statin-treated patients with IHD examined by coronary angiography (CAG) from 2011 to 2020.
A decline in macroautophagic/autophagic activity with age contributes to the accumulation of damaged molecules and is associated with the impairment of neuronal functions and the onset of age-related diseases, particularly neurodegenerative disorders. To learn about the neuronal-specific roles of autophagy genes in aging, we specifically inhibited autophagy genes pan-neuronally in , which leads to unexpected positive impacts on neuronal homeostasis including polyQ aggregate load and organismal lifespan. These improvements are independent of canonical, degradative autophagy in neurons and instead correlate with an increase in the secretion of large, extracellular vesicles, known as exophers.
