Dual First and Second Surface Solar Mirrors of Polished WS and Silver by Dynamical Chemical Plating Technique on Polycarbonate.

This work proposes for the first time protecting-reflecting on both sides of plated mirrors and a solution to polycarbonate surface vulnerability to weathering and scratching using tungsten disulfide (WS) by mechanical polishing. The ability of the dynamic chemical plating (DCP) technique to deposit Ag films at the nanometer scale on a polycarbonate (PC) substrate and its characteristics to be metallized is also shown. These deposits hold significant promise for concentrated solar power (CSP) applications.

Cervical Intramedullary Spinal Cord Abscess Secondary to Discitis and Osteomyelitis in an Immunocompromised Patient.

Intramedullary spinal cord abscess is a rare neurological condition, not commonly suspected and often misdiagnosed. Even after a prompt diagnosis and treatment, most patients persist with permanent neurological deficits. In adults, factors such as immunocompromised, intravenous drug use, endocarditis, and sepsis could be associated with its development.

Polymer Waste Recycling of Injection Molding Purges with Softening for Cutting with Fresnel Solar Collector-A Real Problem Linked to Sustainability and the Circular Economy.

A plastic injection waste known as "purge" cannot be reintegrated into the recycling chain due to its shape, size, and composition. Grinding these cannot be carried out with traditional mills due to significant variations in size and shape. This work proposes a process and the design of a device that operates with solar energy to cut the purges without exceeding the degradation temperature.

Photoelectrocatalytic activity of silicon nanowires decorated with electroless copper nanoparticles and graphene oxide using a plasma jet for removal of methyl orange under visible light.

Silicon nanowires (Si) have been studied due to their interesting properties, such as light trapping and catalytic activity for removing organic molecules. In this work, silicon nanowires are decorated with copper (Si-Cu), graphene oxide (Si-GO), and both copper and graphene oxide GO (Si-Cu-GO). They were prepared and tested as photoelectrocatalysts to remove the azoic dye methyl orange (MO).

Predictors of reoperation in hispanic-americans with recurrent lumbosacral disc herniation following primary hemilaminectomy and discectomy surgery.

Background: Multiple risk factors for recurrent lumbosacral disc herniation (rLDH) have been evaluated. However, it has been difficult to establish a consensus due to conflicting results. Therefore, the aim of our study was to evaluate the predictors of reoperation in Hispanic-Americans with rLDH following primary hemilaminectomy and discectomy surgery.

Diagnostic impact of preoperative corticosteroids in primary central nervous system lymphoma.

Purpose: High dose corticosteroids are an effective tool for rapidly alleviating neurologic symptoms caused by intracranial mass lesions. However, there is concern that preoperative corticosteroids limit the ability to obtain a definitive pathologic diagnosis, particularly if imaging features suggest primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL).
