Hemoglobin level is associated with severe stroke among stroke patients in Saudi Arabia.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the association between abnormal hemoglobin (Hb) level and stroke severity (as assessed by the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale [NIHSS]). The study further aimed to describe the demographic and clinical characteristics of stroke patients in the middle region of Saudi Arabia.

Methodology: We performed a retrospective review of all medical records of the stroke patients who were treated at a major hospital in Qassim province between 2016 and 2018.
