Purpose: Bank employees are among the workers who are at a high risk of suffering from musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) due to inactivity and prolonged sitting as well as static and poor postures. This study was conducted with the aim of systematic review and meta-analysis of the prevalence of MSDs among bank employees.

Materials And Methods: This review followed the PRISMA guidelines and its protocol is registered in PROSPERO with the code CRD42024509728.

Behaviour Change Techniques: An Application to Increase Employees' Willingness to Accept a Salary Reduction.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many organisations worldwide asked their employees to accept a temporary salary reduction to manage the financial consequences of the unprecedented event. In this paper, we use a CEO's salary reduction announcement to all employees and investigate whether a behaviour change intervention using five selected Behaviour Change Techniques (BCTs) increases expat employees' overall willingness to accept a temporary salary reduction. We use mixed qualitative and quantitative methods, including survey and experiment, to test our hypotheses and frame our results.

Evaluation of the effect of corrective exercise intervention on musculoskeletal disorders, fatigue and working memory of office workers.

: The present study aimed to investigate the effect of corrective exercise intervention (corrective exercise reminding and training software) on musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), fatigue, posture and working memory among office workers. : A total of 66 office workers participated in the present study. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires (including the Nordic musculoskeletal questionnaire, multidimensional fatigue inventory and Borg rating scale), direct observations of work postures using rapid upper limb assessment (RULA) and rapid office strain assessment, and the -back test.

Promoting follow-up attendance among mental health patients at a primary healthcare center in Lebanon: A randomized controlled trial.

Objective: In 2015, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health launched the 2015-2020 National Mental Health Strategy in an effort to integrate Mental Health into Primary Healthcare centers. One of the key objectives of the strategy was to increase the detection, assessment, and management of mental disorders including depression. In addition to diagnosis and patient education, a successful management of depression requires that patients systematically follow-up with their healthcare provider to ensure that they are on the optimal path to recovery.

Characterization of Newcastle disease virus in broiler flocks with respiratory symptoms in some provinces of Iran.

Background: Newcastle disease, is one of the most important diseases of the poultry industry, has many economic losses. The aim of this study was to isolate and determine the molecular identity of Newcastle disease virus in 40 broiler flocks with respiratory symptoms in four provinces of Iran.

Methods And Results: Samples of farms with respiratory symptoms were collected from different regions of Isfahan, East Azerbaijan, Golestan, and Khuzestan provinces and inoculated into 9-day-old embryonated chicken eggs.

Endoscopic Reconstruction of Skull Base Defects Using Tutoplast.

Background: Various graft materials that are classified as autografts, xenografts, and allografts based on their origin have been used to endoscopically repair skull base defects. Tutoplast® (Tutogen Medical GmbH), an allogeneic natural collagen matrix, is processed through chemical sterilization that preserves tissue biocompatibility and structural integrity.

Objective: To study the safety and efficacy of Tutoplast Fascia Lata and Tutoplast Temporalis Fascia® as primary graft materials in the endoscopic reconstruction of skull base defects of different sizes and etiologies and to compare the outcomes with those of other traditional graft materials based on our experience.

The Functional & Quality of Life Outcomes of Total Glossectomy with Laryngeal Preservation.

Background: The tongue is an essential organ for human interaction, communication and survival. To date, there is a paucity of objective functional, patient reported, or quality of life outcomes of patients undergoing a total glossectomy with preservation of the larynx (TGLP).

Objective: To examine prospectively collected objective, self-reported functional and quality of life (QOL) data in patients undergoing TGLP and free flap reconstruction.

An exploratory randomised controlled trial evaluating text prompts in Lebanon to encourage health-seeking behaviour for hypertension.

Aims Of The Study: The current study evaluates the effectiveness of an opportunistic mobile screening on the percentage of people who are aware of whether they may be hypertensive (in an observational study) and the effectiveness of reminder prompts on the percentage of people who seek further medical attention (in a randomised controlled trial).

Methods Used To Conduct The Study: The screening of 1227 participants (529 female) was conducted during the registration period of the 2018 Beirut International Marathon in Lebanon. Next, 266 participants whose screening indicated hypertension (64 Female) were randomly allocated to a treatment group or a control group in a 1:1 fashion.

The Alberta Reconstructive Technique: An Occlusion-Driven and Digitally Based Jaw Reconstruction.

Objectives/hypothesis: The free flap reconstructive protocols of the jaws have been refined over the years and presently are based on bone-driven approaches that generally use the lower border of the mandible or the anterior surface of the maxilla as the templates for reconstruction because these contours are deemed important to the eventual cosmetic outcomes of patients. The ultimate goal of functional jaw reconstruction, however, is the reconstruction of the dental occlusion and oral rehabilitation. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the Alberta reconstructive technique (ART), which is a new approach of occlusion-driven jaw reconstruction with digitally planned immediate osseointegrated implant installation.

Results From a Trial of an Online Diabetes Prevention Program Intervention.

Introduction: Online Diabetes Prevention Programs (DPPs) can be scaled up and delivered broadly. However, little is known about real-world effectiveness and how outcomes compare with in-person DPP. This study examined online DPP weight loss and participation outcomes and secondarily compared outcomes among participating individuals with parallel in-person interventions.

Late free flap failure in head and neck reconstruction: A systematic review.

Our objectives were to review all reported cases of late flap failure in head and neck surgery and describe any relevant patterns. We conducted a systematic review of all published cases of free flap failure after postoperative day 7 in head and neck surgery from January 1990 to January 2018. Data were collected with respect to flap type, site of reconstruction, reason for failure, and time to failure.

'Students-as-partners' scheme enhances postgraduate students' employability skills while addressing gaps in bioinformatics education.

Teaching bioinformatics is a longstanding challenge for educators who need to demonstrate to students how skills developed in the classroom may be applied to real world research. This study employed an action research methodology which utilised student-staff partnership and peer-learning. It was centred on the experiences of peer-facilitators, students who had previously taken a postgraduate bioinformatics module, and had applied knowledge and skills gained from it to their own research.

Diabetes Prevention Program Translation in the Veterans Health Administration.

Introduction: This clinical demonstration trial compared the effectiveness of the Veterans Affairs Diabetes Prevention Program (VA-DPP) with an evidence-based usual care weight management program (MOVE!) in the Veterans Health Administration health system.

Design: Prospective, pragmatic, non-randomized comparative effectiveness study of two behavioral weight management interventions.

Setting/participants: Obese/overweight Veterans with prediabetes were recruited from three geographically diverse VA sites between 2012 and 2014.

Background: The incidence of oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) caused by oncogenic human papillomavirus (HPV) is rising worldwide. HPV-OPSCC is commonly diagnosed by RT-qPCR of HPV E6 and E7 oncoproteins or by p16 immunohistochemistry (IHC). Droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) has been recently reported as an ultra-sensitive and highly precise method of nucleic acid quantification for biomarker analysis.

Low-density granulocytes: functionally distinct, immature neutrophils in rheumatoid arthritis with altered properties and defective TNF signalling.

Our aim was to determine whether rheumatoid arthritis (RA) low-density granulocytes (LDGs) are functionally different from RA neutrophils. LDGs from 32 RA patients were characterized using flow cytometry and quantitative PCR (qPCR). RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) was carried out on paired RA LDGs and neutrophils (n = 4) and validated using qPCR.
